dc.description.abstractThe paper deals with the Automatic Dependent Surveillance systems which are a part of aeronautical surveillance services. Paper is specifically focused on the currently implemented system ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast). The aim of the paper is to state the reasons for the introduction of ADS-B in the environment of air navigation services, to provide basic information on the technical aspects of dependent surveillance systems, their distribution and to inform the aviation professionals about their strengths and weaknesses. The paper also includes information on the state of implementation of ADS-B systems in Europe and in the world.en_US
