Konštrukcia bezpilotného letúna s možnosťou VTOL
(University of Žilina, 2025) Berki, Július; Škultéty, Filip
Article focuses on the design, construction, and testing of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) capabilities that does not require thrust vectoring mechanisms. The goal of the work was to create a simpler and more reliable prototype compared to most UAV convertiplanes, which use mechanisms for thrust vectoring, while being built from cost-effective materials. This UAV may be intended for the public as a DIY project. The article providing a design of the aircraft, including aerodynamic parameters, material selection, and electronic components. Airflow simulations using specialized software tools for aerodynamic analysis were applied during the development process. Experimental testing of the prototype was conducted in real-world conditions, including vertical take-offs and landings on a specially designed test polygon, where stability and hovering flight characteristics were monitored. Based on the results from the experimental tests, the success of the design was evaluated by the critical approach, which then led to the formulation of recommendations for improving the aircraft's design. The article also offers a guide to building DIY UAVs and provides a basis for further research in this area.
Optimalizácia letových tratí s cieľom znižovania spotreby paliva a emisií
(University of Žilina, 2025) Ďurčo, Emília Alexandra; Chodelka, Frederik
The main goal of this study outlines theoretical framework of air traffic routes with a particular focus on the Free Route Airspace (FRA) concept. In this paper we will examine the implementation and development of FRA within Europe, specific emphasis will be given on application of this concept in the Slovak Republic, as well as relevant national initiatives. The practical component presents a comparative analysis between conventional route planning and FRA based planning on theoretical basis. Methodology used in this paper evaluates the potential of FRA in fuel optimizing process. Preliminary findings show that even small reductions in fuel consumption can lead to a measurable positive impact on environmental sustainability.
Prínos nových medzinárodných dohôd o leteckej doprave
(University of Žilina, 2025) Fábryová, Natália; Novák Sedláčková, Alena
This paper focuses on the analysis of the current state of international air transport agreements between the European Union and third countries, specifically Ukraine, Armenia, Tunisia, and Qatar. The primary objective was to assess clauses related to environmental, social aspects and fair competition in the context of current legislation and applied rules. The methods of document analysis, comparison and synthesis were used, evaluating specific provisions of these agreements and their impact on the air transport market. Based on the conducted analysis, it was concluded that the new agreements significantly contribute to the sustainable development of air transport within the EU, support the protection of employee rights, and create conditions for fair competition. The thesis also presents proposals for potential expansion of contractual cooperation between the EU and other third countries, assessing the potential benefits of these steps for the Slovak air transport sector. The aim of the thesis was fulfilled, and the results highlight the growing importance of a comprehensive approach to negotiating international air transport agreements.
Modern technologies and artificial intelligence usage in the airline´s operational control centre
(University of Žilina, 2025) Chalás, Tomáš; Pazourek, Michal
This article briefly describes the way of work of flight operations dispatchers with the development of the new technology and shows new available solutions on the market. This research includes the development of the responsibilities and job description of a flight dispatcher. The article describes the way of work and abilities of artificial intelligence as a new advancement of modern technology. Gained knowledge is then applied in the SWOT analysis, based on the observation in the operations control centre in the ABS Jets airline, discussions conducted with flight dispatchers on duty and an expert from Avcon Jet AG. Options and methodology for the implementation of simple artificial intelligence tools and the scope of activities are suggested, based on the state described. For the research of possible usage, the tests were conducted on the paid version of AI Assistant Microsoft Copilot (version 1.5.3, as of 27th of March 2025). The tests were based on the OFPs, evaluated by the AI Assistant with simulated erroneously planned flights. After a series of tests, outcomes are evaluated and compared with the defined desirable outcome. Consequently, the thesis describes potential solutions for weaknesses and opportunities based on the SWOT Analysis by implementing artificial intelligence in the other activities connected with the operations of a business jet operator.
Projevy klimatické změny na vybraných letištích Slovenska
(University of Žilina, 2025) Janošková, Alena; Jarošová, Miriam
The topic of this article is focused on the impact of climate change on the increasing tendency in the occurrence of hazardous weather phenomena at selected airports in Slovakia. The aim of the article is to confirm or refute the influence of climate change on the increasing frequency of meteorological phenomena in the specified time frame from 2000 to 2019 by means of a comprehensive statistical analysis and statistical summarization of meteorological data. The first part of the article defines the basic terminology related to the climate change and specifies the importance of addressing the issue in the context of aviation safety. For the practical part of the article meteorological reports provided by the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute were used. In the practical part, various statistical methods, and a comprehensive evaluation of the frequency of individual weather phenomena during the analyzed years, were used. The hypothesis of increasing frequency of weather phenomena over the years was statistically confirmed only for thunderstorm activity at one meteorological station.
