The first part of the paper is devoted to the historical context of the construction and characteristics of training aerobatic aircraft. The work analyses the current state of training aerobatic aircraft together with the situation of aerobatic aviation in Slovakia. The practical part of the paper discusses the design of a training aerobatic aircraft in the software Rhinocerostogether with the determination of technical and operational parameters and analysis of aerodynamic and stress characteristicsItem Creation of a Z 43 aeroplane model for a flight simulator(University of Žilina, 2023) Poláček, Jozef; Škultéty, FilipThis paper describes the process of developing a Zlin Z 43 aircraft for a flight simulator. Work on an aircraft simulation consists of multiple parts. The development of the flight model is the first and core part of the simulation. Work on this part consisted of an analysis of the X-Plane blade element theory-based flight model, sourcing of the data this model requires, flight testing and further editing of the data to match the known performance of the Zlín Z43. The aircraft systems are another core part of the simulation. A Mix of the simulator's default, customised and fully custom systems are used. The theory and process of creating, animating, and texturing a 3D model are described, too. Visual quality can also be important, especially for its use in virtual reality. The last part is about the user interface, user experience and how the various use cases shape their design for an aircraft simulation.Item Design of the reference model of the aero l-39 aircraft(University of Zilina, 2021) Staňa, Ján; Škultéty, FilipThe object of the research of the paper is to design a reference model of an unmanned aircraft according to the model of the training jet Aero L 39. The work contains an analysis of the methods, procedures and typology used in the creation of reference models. Subsequently, the design of an unmanned vehicle was created using computer modelling, which was subjected to aerodynamic simulations and strength analysis. Aerodynamic performance was investigated on the airframe of the aircraft and strength analyses were determined on specific structural elements. After successful program tests, a functional model of the aircraft was built. The prerequisite was mainly aerodynamic analyses, which should determine with sufficient accuracy the basic structure of the model's flight. The result of solving the problem is a functional model of the aircraft, which is suitable for flight tests using appropriate hardware.Item DETEKCIA A OCHRANA OBJEKTOV PROTI PREVÁDZKE BEZPILOTNÝCH LIETADIEL(Žilinská univerzita v Žiline, 2020) Bujna, Erik; Škultéty, FilipThe main topic of this bachelor thesis is the detection and protection of objects against the operation of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The necessity of addressing this issue is due to the increasing prevalence of UAVs and increase in reports of airspace penetrations by unauthorised UAV operations. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyse the problem and provide an overview of the possibilities and methods of protection against unmanned aircraft. The first part of the bachelor thesis provides a brief overview of the issue, including terminology, an overview of current legislation, the possibility of using unmanned aircraft together with incidents that have also become the subject of the problem. The following chapters examine in more detail the possibilities of detection and protection against unmanned aircraft. The comparative method compares the positive and negative aspects of individual detection methods. In the third chapter are provided specific solutions which are based on the methods of security protection and defined principles to operators of areas with the necessary security protection. The conclusion of the bachelor thesis includes the analysis of the Bratislava airport surrounding, the definition of the protective zones of airport together with the protective zones of navigation devices. The result is a proposal for implementation of detection system, which should to ensure regular and safe operation and to reduce the risk of flying unmanned aircraft over the airport. The proposal of securing the airport against UAVs offers the possibility to protect the nearest surroundings of the airport from the intrusion of unmanned aircraft and in case of disruption of the covered area of early warning and the possibility of responding to the threat.Item EVALUAČNÉ KRITÉRIA VÝBEROVÝCH KONANÍ NA POZÍCIU DRUHÉHO PILOTA(Žilinská univerzita v Žiline, 2020) Kozáčik, Filip; Škultéty, FilipMaster paper is focused on flight training and assessment criteria for position of first officer in airline companies. Paper is created primary for graduates of Professional pilot study program on University of Žilina. Main aim of the paper was to analyze assessments in number of airline companies and based on gathered data to prepare study materials for preparation of the pilot before the assessment. These study materials consist from theoretical part, which is not exhaustive with its content, but serve as an insight on the types of questions which are most frequently asked on the assessments, and outline for practical preparation on the flight simulator. Outcome of this paper and real benefit is creating this study materials for assessment into standalone publication, which can be distributed to students of Professional Pilot program.Item INTEGRATION OF UTM WITHIN THE CURRENT AIRSPACE ARCHITECTURE. IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE?(University of Zilina, 2019) Škultéty, Filip; Poljak, JozefThis paper comprehensively describes the various issues of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) in terms of their integration into a contemporary and complex system such as Air Traffic Management (ATM). In its introductory part, the paper systematizes and outlines the theoretical knowledge of UAS and categories of airspace sharing entities. However, the main part is devoted to the analysis carried out on the observation of latest proposals of Unmanned Aircraft Systems Traffic Management (UTM), new flight rules as well as state-of-the-art research in several countries throughout the world. The objective of this task is to assess the possibilities, obstacles, and approaches to the integration of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) into the current airspace. The content of this paper is not only informative in nature it but offers concrete explanations, and it may be used as a part of preliminary study for further research in this area.Item Integration of virtual and augmented reality elements into the training of future pilots(University of Žilina, 2024) Šulka, Michael; Škultéty, FilipThe presented aim of paper is focused on the implementation of virtual and augmented reality elements into the training of future pilots. To understand the issues related to these technologies, in its introduction, the thesis focuses on identifying the differences between virtual reality and augmented reality. The next part of the thesis focuses on the analysis of the use of virtual and augmented reality in civil aviation. The following section deals with the creation of a virtual environment for the purpose of training of future pilots. The creation of the virtual environment is divided into two parts. The first part concerns the creation of the virtual cockpit of the selected aircraft. This will allow pilots in training to become familiar with the layout of the on-board instruments and controls. The second part of the proposed virtual environment allows pilots to practice checklists. Checklists are a critical skill for every pilot. At the end of the thesis, feedback from the students is presented.Item KONSPEKT AKVIZÍCIE GEOPRIESTOROVÝCH DÁT PRE VYTVORENIE 3D MODELU REFERENČNÉHO LETISKA(Žilinská univerzita v Žiline, 2020) Škultéty, Filip; Janovec, MichalWhen rendering large scenarios for flight simulators, we encounter similar problems as in the case of scenes for cinematography or computer games. In the case of this work, we solve the rendering of the earth's surface for any camera configuration, and we try to maximize the quality of the rendered images without a visible decrease in the rendering frequency. The article is devoted to the creation of a reference model of the Piešťany airport (LZPP) as a part of the scenery for a certified flight simulator. The presented solution maintains a stable 60 frames per second when rendering the airport surface from any distance and direction.Item Modification of the of the viper SD-4 braking system(University of Žilina, 2023) Antoniuk, Kateryna; Škultéty, FilipThe Viper SD-4 is an excellent example of a Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) category of training aeroplanes. It is produced in Slovakia and used in several European countries and also in the United States of America. It is a very high-quality made aircraft, but some of the pilots say that it has one not very convenient component, which is the operation of the brake system. In this article researched how the brake system can be modified based on data from other brake systems used for the LSA category. The result of this research is the possible variants of the anticipated modifications and the analysis of the relevance of such changes.Item NÁVRH A VYUŽITIE DIDAKTICKÝCH MATERIÁLNYCH PROSTRIEDKOV V RÁMCI ŠTUDIJNÉHO PROGRAMU TECHNOLÓGIA ÚDRŽBY LIETADIEL(Žilinská univerzita v Žiline, 2020) Martonka, Pavol; Škultéty, FilipThe need for continuously increasing the quality of practical training and study process for students of the aircraft maintenance technology study program is necessary given the high standard of aviation safety. As part of the tendency to meet this need, the aim of this paper is to design and create a teaching aid. This would not be possible without enough literature and materials to work with, materials from field of maintenance training legislation, variety of teaching materials covering the subject matter of this paper and many others. The main purpose of the paper was to create a didactic material means, which in fact is a modified wing of the Zlín Z-142 airplane. Modification of the wing consists in removal of certain parts of the skin, which ended up in revealing critical and important parts of the wing construction and its systems. All this resulted in creation of proper teaching aid to satisfy the needs of teaching and practical training of specific maintenance procedures. By placing the modified wing and the theory which comes with it into the curriculums of maintenance training it is possible to use these means actively in the education and training processes.Item NÁVRH MATERIÁLNEJ ČASTI LETÚNA PIPER PA-34 220T(Žilinská univerzita v Žiline, 2020) Chebeň, Juraj; Škultéty, FilipThe aim of the paper is to create a comprehensive teaching material that will help students of the study program Professional Pilot of the University of Žilina to complete practical flight training on multi-engine aircraft in the Air Training and Education Centre (LVVC). The first part is devoted to a general description of the Piper PA-34 Piper PA-34-220T aircraft, including a brief history, an overview of versions and technical & operational parameters with a focus on the versions of Seneca III and Seneca V, which LVVC currently operates. The second part is focused on a detailed description of individual systems and systems with regard to design solutions of the type. The last, third part describes the standard instrumentation of the PA-34 and subsequently the equipment of specific aircraft operated by LVVC. The work is supplemented by appendices that contain performance graphs, checklists, and mass and balance diagrams.Item New generation aircraft concepts and assessment of their design solutions(University of Žilina, 2024) Matzenauer, Robert; Škultéty, FilipThe bachelor thesis is focused on new generation aircraft concepts, analysing new design solutions and technologies. At the same time, the thesis assesses the current state of development of aviation technology and prospectively presents new facts that can be expected in the near future in the context of civil aviation. In the perspective of new design solutions for transport aeroplanes, it first analyses the advantages resulting from a new type of blended wing body and transonic truss-braced wing design. In the context of conventional configuration aeroplanes, it discusses aeroplanes from the private jet sector and one specific piston engine aeroplane that competes with small jets in terms of its performance characteristics. The thesis also deals with urban air mobility, in the form of eVTOL flying vehicles, which aim to provide air transport in large cities and then compares them with each other in terms of their operational parameters. Finally, the thesis discusses the potential return of supersonic air transport, in the form of a new supersonic transport aircraft.Item New regulations for UAS flights(University of Zilina, 2020) Kandera, Branislav; Škultéty, Filip; Badánik, BenediktThe paper deals with the legislation in the field of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) in the Slovak Republic. The main goal of the paper is to analyse the current legislative framework, which sets the basic rules and restrictions. The article’s contribution is a description of the latest Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/947. The solution to the issue consists of an analysis of the requirements for changes in current legislation based on people’s experience from practice. The reason for the changes is to facilitate flying with UAS for all user groups, provided that safety is maintained, and risks are minimised. These new regulations are causing the most significant changes, especially for organisations that will perform aerial work with the UAS in the Specific category. These organisations need to transform their operations manuals and extend the aerial work system with a risk analysis.Item Non Directional Beacons Checking(University of Zilina, 2014) Pitor, Ján; Škultéty, Filip; Götz, KarolThis paper aims to familiarize experts from other fields with issues of flight check of Non Directional Beacon (NDB) and its assessment. The AT-940 Automatic Flight Inspection System and the aircraft PIPER SENECA are described followed by flight check specifications and procedures. Evaluated were the coverage of NDB Z, NDB ZLA located at Žilina airport and Standard Instrument Approach Procedure for runway 06. The results of evaluation are in paragraph 4. The paper is based on project “Centre of excellence for Air Transport” focused on the impact of air transport on environment photogrammetry, surveillance of electromagnetic compatibility of radio navigation aids and radio communication equipment.Item Objective evaluation of IFR training flight(University of Zilina, 2021) Mrocek, Andrej; Škultéty, FilipWe are living, working, and most importantly, flying in the 21st century, but in many areas still stick to old customs from the pre-millennial times. I have decided to attempt to improve the quality of flight instruction by implementing modern evaluation and debriefing methods to training flights performed in a flight school where I currently perform the role of a flight instructor. In my paper, I am explaining the way the training course is done in our conditions, how it is already different from other schools, what aircraft we use for training and how I evaluate the results of training flights. My research is about the effects of applying modern debriefing methods in our already modern instrument rating courses.Item Požiadavky na harmonizáciu údržby ultraľahkých lietadiel(University of Zilina, 2022) Škultéty, Filip; Čerňan, Jozef; Janovec, Michal; Chodelka, FrederikThe exact definition of an Ultralight Aircraft is still very diverse, especially in the European region. Internationally, there are various Ultralight Aircraft (UL) classes with nationally varying certification regulations. Accordingly, Ultralight Aircraft is used colloquially ore or less comprehensively for Very Light Aircraft or Light-Sport Aircraft. However, they are subject to much stricter certification nd maintenance regulations. This paper aims to compare the current legal situation in the European Union countries, extract the best practices, and propose how a new “AMC & GM” should define the laws and regulations to create the best possible vironment for UL airworthiness. This paper is written based on information and directions published on the websites of the esponsible uthorities of the respective countries, as well as communication with these authorities and first-hand knowledge obtained by conducting numerous interviews with people in the field of UL maintenance. The results indicate how different each country egulates the maintenance and continuing airworthiness of ULs and how important a harmonised regulation would be. It is specially important to have clarity as with larger aircraft and thus also to prevent numerous accidents and hazardous situations in the future.Item Proposal of aircraft maintenance planning software for ATO(University of Zilina, 2021) Mikulec, Dominik; Škultéty, FilipThe goal of this paper is to create a proposal of aircraft maintenance planning software, which meets the requirements of approved training organization (ATO) and combined airworthiness organization which are part of the Air training and education centre (LVVC). Conducted analysis of organizations that operate in aviation including LVVC, illustrates use cases, content and processes linked with planning software. Based on the acquired knowledge the proposal of the software is created, thanks to its structure and content optimizes coordination and planning of aircraft maintenance and processing of operation data. Paper also contains an alternative to the proposed software in form of online software that can be purchased if required. The paper provides software developers overview of the required structure and functionality of the proposed software.Item Proposal of MCC course training manual for L410 aircraft(University of Zilina, 2021) Coufal, Bohumír; Škultéty, FilipSubject of this paper is to propose a possible and notably practically useful training manual for multicrew cooperation training directly suited for use on L-410 airplane type simulator. This paper could be used as study material at LVVC or any other organisation providing MCC training on L 410 aircraft type simulator. Whole paper is divided into three parts: introduction, core and conclusion. Introduction can be understood as a proposition of a problem and determination of paper goals. In its core part, this paper is going to explain the current state of training, legislative issues, technical solutions, analyse possibilities and practical use of this proposed manual. Lastly, there will be evaluation of thistopic in conclusion.
