Item Changes in night-time distribution of goods to the city centres as a tool to meet the requirements of the EU white paper on transport(University of Zilina, 2017) Gnap, Jozef; Beňová, Dominika; Slávik, Radovan; Dydkowski, GrzegorzThe report focuses on assessing the advantages and disadvantages of night distribution in selected European cities. The first chapter is focused on projects focused on night distribution of goods in the city centre. The second chapter deals with a more detailed analyses of night distribution in some countries of the European Union. It shows concrete example, a solution for night distribution, which can be applied to our Slovak cities. Even in Slovakia, it has to deal with the issue in view of the constantly increase the number and the duration of traffic accidents not only in Bratislava, but also in all regional cities.Item City Logistics and Air Quality(University of Zilina, 2018) Slávik, Radovan; Beňová, Dominika; Gnap, Jozef; Stopka, OndrejThe paper focuses on the impact of city logistics on air quality. The first chapter focuses on the EU's transport policy for 2030-2050 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The second chapter focuses on air quality in the Slovak Republic and the amount of greenhouse gases in the air. The aim of the contribution is to highlight the impact of road transport on air quality and air pollution as well as the need to reduce these harmful emissions.Item Research on Relationship Between Road Freight Transport and Infrastructure in European Countries(University of Zilina, 2018) Varjan, Pavol; Gnap, Jozef; Ďurana, Pavol; Kostrzewski, MariuszThe article deals with research of relationship between the performance of road and freight transport and transport infrastructure (motorways) in EU countries. The main goal is to find out how transport infrastructure has a relationship and influence on the development of transport performance. The relationship between transport performance and transport infrastructure has been examined by correlation and regression analysis. Research has shown that the strength of these relationships is different for states. There is a strong direct and indirect dependence between transport infrastructure and transport performance.Item Statistical survey of road freight transport performance indicators(University of Zilina, 2017) Varjan, Pavol; Gnap, Jozef; Semanová, Štefánia; Stopka, OndrejThis paper deals with the statistical survey of road freight transport performance indicators in the Slovak Republic and Europe. The aim is to point out disagreements in statistical data. The data will be compared in the databases of the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic and Eurostat databases. These disagreements concern performance indicators for road freight and transport of passengers. The first part of the article describes the role of the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic and Eurostat. Further, the survey data is shown. In the middle part there are disagreements in the statistics. At the end of the article are explained problems with collecting data from road freight transport companies.
