One of the most dangerous phenomena that affects the safe operation of these engines is the unstable work of the compressor. The object of the research in this article is to find appropriate and simple way to improve heat resistance of the MPM-20 experimental engine components, suffered by high thermal load, which resulted in the destruction of its gas turbine. A metallographic and microscopic analysis was carried out on the experimental specimens improved by TBC coating for decreasing of thermal conductivity. The results of experiments with TBC coatings shows decrease of the sample temperature for samples covered with TBC coating comparing to samples withou it. This fact can contribute to the development of new surface treatment of jet engine components with higher heat resistance and better reliability.Item Conversion of passenger aircraft to cargo versions(University of Zilina, 2022) Mlynarčík, Martin; Janovec, MichalIn this presented paper on the topic of conversion of passenger aircrafts to cargo versions, the use of this transformation in the modern history of aviation is analyzed and the current situation is analyzed. Reliability of all parts and systems is very important to aircraft because operation of aircraft can affect flight safe directly. Aircraft failure rate is an important parameter of aircraft operation to maintain the effective level of reliability. The failure rate is the probability of failure at a point in time. When a part, component or system is not functional it can be upgraded through replacement or repair, and the condition of the aircraft is restored to some degree. We can defined several approaches to aircraft maintenance. There are maintenance can be based on condition, which is, items are repaired when they fail. Failure during operation can have serious consequences, so detection of items with a high probability of failure through periodic inspection is a major component of maintenance. This paper analyses how we can define the aircraft failure rate and its impact on operational reliability of aircraft.Item HYBRIDNÉ POHONY LIETADIEL(Žilinská univerzita v Žiline, 2020) Dančová, Dominika; Janovec, MichalThe aim of this paper is to evaluate the propulsion of aircraft from the present to the future development of the aviation industry. The method is very suitable for the detection of cracks that result from fatigue or cracking as a result of stress corrosion. Eddy current testing can be performed with minimal part preparation and a high degree of sensitivity. The eddy current method is used for the detection of surface and subsurface failures, corrosion in aircraft structures, holes for fixing various components and thread cracks. The paper describes the application of the eddy current method ECA in the inspection of riveted joints of the produced sample. The riveted sample is made of aluminum sheets and countersunk head rivets. Simulated damages are created around the rivet holes on the riveted specimen. Artificially formed notches simulate cracks around the rivet holes, and aluminum powder is used to simulate corrosion of aluminum sheets. These damages are then scanned with an Olympus OmniScan MX flaw defectoscop and the results of the measurements are evaluated in this article. SAB-067-005-032 and SBB-051-150-032 are used for non-destructive measurements.Item Návrh zdokonalenia ovládacích prvkov simulátora Zlín(University of Zilina, 2022) Janovec, Michal; Materna, Matúš; Pecho, PavolThis article deals with possible improvements and improvements of the flight simulator Zlín, which is located at the Air Transport Department of the University of Žilina. Internationally, there are various Ultralight Aircraft (UL) classes with nationally varying certification regulations. Accordingly, Ultralight Aircraft is used colloquially ore or less comprehensively for Very Light Aircraft or Light-Sport Aircraft. However, they are subject to much stricter certification nd maintenance regulations. This paper aims to compare the current legal situation in the European Union countries, extract the best practices, and propose how a new “AMC & GM” should define the laws and regulations to create the best possible vironment for UL airworthiness. This paper is written based on information and directions published on the websites of the esponsible uthorities of the respective countries, as well as communication with these authorities and first-hand knowledge obtained by conducting numerous interviews with people in the field of UL maintenance. The results indicate how different each country egulates the maintenance and continuing airworthiness of ULs and how important a harmonised regulation would be. It is specially important to have clarity as with larger aircraft and thus also to prevent numerous accidents and hazardous situations in the future.Item Prototyp simulátora letového environmentálneho laboratória Evirolab(University of Žilina, 2021) Janovec, Michal; Materna, Matúš; Pecho, Pavol; Kandera, Branislav; Radosa, FilipThe aim of this paper is to create a solid structural platform for the placement of computer equipment and other computer accessories to create a flight simulator from scratch. For this reason, it is necessary to increase the safety of UAV operations outside the duties and competencies of the pilot at a distance, for example, through anti-collision systems and air traffic management systems. This article was initially focused on analysing aviation events in Slovakia associated with the operation of the UAV. Another factor that significantly affects the operation of UAVs to a large extent is the legislation itself. A special part was devoted to the legislation in terms of airspace determination, procedures and rules of operation of the UAV. From a legislative point of view, it is currently an important aspect to define the correct and reasonable level between the restrictions in order to increase the safety of operation only on an indispensable scale, not to be very restrictive to operators.Item Sustainable aviation fuel from the perspective of long-term sustainability and development(University of Žilina, 2022) Šajbanová, Kristína; Janovec, Michal; Zachar Kuchtová, JanaThe aim of the article is to create a SWOT analysis of the position of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) as an innovative available product on the aviation fuel market and to evaluate its development and application in the coming years. The motivation for the analysis and subsequent creation of this work is the fact that the topic of sustainable aviation fuels is currently extremely actual and also relevant for the future of air transport, as well as the future of the ecosystem from the point of view of reducing the emission load caused by the emissions of aircraft engines, which have a non-negligible share of the ecological load our planet. Because the combustion process in aircraft engines is the main factor in the creation of emissions, alternative aviation fuels from sustainable sources have been developed in order to reduce them. Thanks to the analysis of the goals of the influential aviation manufacturers, we found that the attention paid to the implementation of sustainable fuel is currently and will be given increased attention in the future. Achieving this goal will be made possible through technological advances and governance adjustments in many companies affecting aviation, from aircraft and fuel manufacturers to institutions dealing with administrative matters affecting aviation.
