Item Analysis of the possibility of increasing safety at the selected airport(University of Žilina, 2023) Šímov, Adéla; Remencová, TatianaCivil aviation safety is one of the most discussed issues in air transport. Airport safety must meet certain requirements, both in terms of safety management and security. Therefore, this article is focused on the definition of basic definitions for the issue, such as the already mentioned concept of safety and security, terrorism or theoretical basic models used in connection with the human factor in aviation. In the context of the current situation, there are examined the security systems at airports and their use at specific world airports. The main goal of this article was to analyze security systems at selected European airport, which is Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. Security at this airport is characterized by high level, not only because of the introduction of new technologies in the field of security checks, but also high staff qualification has its part on it. The number of terrorist attacks at Schiphol Airport also showed a high level of security system, with the first and last terrorist attack were in 2009. This attack caused certain changes in the field of security, in particular the modernization of security systems and the additional qualification of staff. Based on the analysis of safety and security system, there were formulated opportunities to increase security at this airport.Item Digital transformation of regional airports(University of Zilina, 2022) Plško, Lukáš; Remencová, TatianaThe digital transformation of airports has become more talked about in recent years. In the case of regional airports, digital transformation represents a challenge due to financing. The goal of this paper is to describe issues connected with digital transformation, especially at a selected group of airports, which are regional airports. Within the first part, there are defined terms as digitalization and digital transformation. There are also presented selected digital technologies used by airports all around the world, and the Smart Airport concept is explained. The second part is focused on terms such as airport, regional airport, and it describes the current level of digital transformation at regional airports. The main goal is to find out the level of digitalization at selected regional airports in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic. The output of this paper will be an evaluation of the current digital level of regional airports with regard to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.Item EKONOMICKO-PRÁVNE ASPEKTY REGIONÁLNYCH LETÍSK SR V PODMIENKACH EÚ(Žilinská univerzita v Žiline, 2020) Remencová, Tatiana; Novák Sedláčková, AlenaThis paper is focused on economic and legal aspects of regional airports. There is analyzed the legal regulation of the issue of regional airports in the EU with regard to their financing from state sources. The paper describes the European Union's position on regional airports, its main challenges and the strategies applicated in this area. Subsequently, it focuses on the regional airports of the Slovak Republic, analyses its current business models and its actual situation. Through this analysis, it tries to determine a suitable model for airports in the Slovak Republic. The output of this paper is a comprehensive summary of the issue of regional airports and the selection of a suitable business model for airports in the Slovak Republic.Item Funding options of regional airports in the context of present legislation(University of Zilina, 2021) Vyskoč, Lukáš; Remencová, TatianaThe presented article is focused on funding options of regional airports. It describes the provision of state aid to regional airports, and it defines the regional airport, its specifications, and problems. From the view of the present legislation, it evaluates the European Union legislation and its application, it also analyses the state aid provision in civil aviation. In the context of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, it describes the situation in air transport and solves the provision of state aid to regional airports in Slovak Republic. Based on acquired knowledge and information, it suggests the changes in the legislation, and it brings a new vision how to improve the situation of regional airports not only in Slovak Republic, but also in the world.Item Ownership structures of regional airports(University of Zilina, 2022) Szotkowski, Nicolas; Remencová, TatianaThis paper is focused on regional airports and their ownership structures. The first part defines the basic terms such as airport and regional airport from a legal point of view. It describes airport ownership models in general, focusing on the traditional organizational ownership model, and then it describes processes such as decentralization, corporatization, commercialization and privatization. This part also contains the advantages and disadvantages of privatization. In the second part, it is focused on the current state of the issue, when there are described selected scientific studies that address the issue of ownership models. Attention is also focused on the Covid-19 pandemic, which had a strong impact on the regional airport. The main goal of the paper is to analyse the ownership structures of selected regional airports, which are located in Austria and the Czech Republic. In connection with ownership structures, it also monitors the achieved economic result of regional airports.Item Public support of regional airports in european countries(University of Žilina, 2023) Koreník, Filip; Remencová, TatianaNowadays, regional airports play several important roles. Their main benefit is the positive impact on the economy in many regions, and they also help to relieve the dense and congested air network in several European countries. However, one of the problems with regional airports is that they are not able to generate a profit. This problem is increasingly becoming a trend. The European Union try to provide public support and state aid to this type of airport, but in spite of this fact, their economic situation is not improving. This article is focused on the issue of providing public support and state aid to regional airports. One of the goals is to clarify in what form public support can be granted, for what purpose, who can grant it and also how much it can be granted. Another objective is to analyse and compare the provision of public support to regional airports in different countries before, during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the findings, there were evaluated the effectiveness of public support provision in terms of whether the amount of public support provided was sufficient for airports. The final section suggests options for the future direction of regional airports, taking into account current market conditions.Item Rovnosť pohlaví v sektore civilného letectva a postavenie žien-obchodných pilotiek(University of Žilina, 2021) Remencová, Tatiana; Škvareková, Iveta; Novák Sedláčková, AlenaThis article deals with the issue of the position of women in civil aviation sector regarding gender equality in the position of commercial pilot. The article is focused on the position of women and men in aviation sector form the position of equality in achieving of education, but also in the subsequent employment in the labour market in the Slovak Republic and in the world. The aviation market is currently probably the sector most affected by the crisis caused by the uncontrolled spread of COVID-19. The projected demand for air transport and the associated increase in the need for new skilled workers has turned into a precarious situation for all aviation workers within one year. The aim of the article is to compare the situation in the field of education of men and women as well as their subsequent employment as a commercial pilot in the Slovak Republic and in the world, but also to compare equality of access to education and subsequent applicability in the labour market in general. The aim of the article was to show whether the situation in the field of gender equality in the aviation sector is the same as in other sectors, or whether we still face discrimination today. The results of the article clearly showed that the employment of pilots on the labour market in the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic is not in percentage terms at the same level as the percentage of female pilots who received university and academic education in the field of study professional pilot.
