It compares two fire tanker trucks with similar chassis, allowing driving on unpaved roads or in the terrain, that are used by the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic. These are fire trucks on chassis manufactured by TATRA and SCANIA. The deceleration and acceleration characteristics of the fire trucks were monitored and evaluated. Braking distance and deceleration were observed during the evaluation of braking characteristics. To evaluate the acceleration characteristics, a deceleration time and a distance to reach a desired speed were monitored. These parameters were monitored depending on the type of tyres, a test track surface and climatic conditions.Item Štatistický prieskum o prevencií závažných havárií (ZH) v členských štátoch EÚ v rokoch 2000-2023(University of Žilina, 2024) Hollá, Katarína; Kočkár, SamuelThe article provides a statistical analysis of serious industrial accidents (SIAs) in European Union Member States between 2000 and 2023, with a particular focus on the general chemicals manufacturing sector, which recorded the highest number of SIAs. Utilizing data from the eMARS database, the study examined 124 accident reports from this high-risk sector, accounting for 10.4% of all recorded incidents. The findings revealed that toxic spills were the predominant physical consequence, with primary causes identified as technical equipment failures, improper working practices, and organizational deficiencies. Furthermore, the study underscores the impact of the SEVESO III Directive, implemented in 2015, in significantly reducing accident occurrences, particularly in recent years. These results highlight the ongoing need to enhance safety measures and risk management strategies in industrial operations.Item Bezpečnosť zdravotníckych zariadení(University of Žilina, 2024) Zelenák, Michal; Kyselák, JanThe healthcare industry is changing daily. One of the top security issues affecting hospitals today is workplace violence. People rarely act violently without warning. Often, there are indicators that may be overlooked, remain unreported, or, even when reported, are not adequately evaluated and addressed. Healthcare facilities must have policies and procedures that require reporting of threatening or unusual behaviours. Having preventive policies and procedures in place is the first step in mitigating violence and providing a safe and secure hospital. The authors describe how to manage staff more efficiently and implement strategic plans to help acquire resources within a restricted revenue environment. Processes to manage emergent events, provide risk assessments, and evaluate and understand technology.Item Měření brzdných drah dopravních automobilů a požárních přívěsných vozíků(University of Žilina, 2024) Salaba, Josef; Jánošík, Ladislav; Jánošíková, IvanaThe paper follows on previous research by the authors’ team focused on a study of the driving characteristics of a transport vehicle (hereinafter referred to as DA) and a fire trailer. The current study briefly summarizes the results of measurements of selected driving characteristics of two tested DA combinations on Ford Transit chassis, year of production 2007 and 2020, with fire designation DA-L1Z. DAs were tested driving with three combinations of fire trailers, as well as without a trailer. During the testing, trailer trucks on chassis made by companies VEZEKO Ltd., Velké Meziříčí, Agados Ltd., Velké Meziříčí and JB Trailers Ltd., Černošice were used. All trucks had a total weight of up to 3.5 tonnes. The driving dynamics testing was focused on a crisis braking in a straight direction and on driving in a circle at a speed approaching the safe limit for a vehicle rollover. These two tasks belong to basic driving skills that a fire truck driver must be able to safely manage in a critical situation on the road.Item Technológia 3D tlače ako nástroj na zlepšenie vzdelávania v oblasti civilnej ochrany(University of Žilina, 2024) Kubás, Jozef; Buday, Ivan; Ballay, Michal; Tobór-Osadnik, Katarzyna; Diemientiew, GrzegorzUsing 3D printing in education brings new opportunities for all ages and specific areas.
