We chose the Mavic Pro and Mavic 2 Pro UAV by company DJI to carry out the research. Research flights are performed during the early morning hours with meteorological conditions suitable for icing. We use the AirData application to analyse flight data. The aim of the work is to find out how dangerous icing is, what meteorological conditions are suitable for icing, how fast icing is formed during the operation of an unmanned aircraft and how it is possible to suppress or eliminate icing. In introduction of this work elaborated theoretical knowledge about the formation of icing and its types. Subsequently, the negative effects of icing on the flight are described, such as changes in lift, drag, controllability of the aircraft and others. The following section describes the accidents of UAV due to the impact of icing. After analysing the data from the mentioned application, we proposed recommendations for pilots of UAV. Before the flight, we recommend checking the meteorological forecast, focusing on the temperature and humidity at the flight area, usually up to 120 meters above the Earth surface. In-flight recommendations include monitoring rotation speed of propellers and frequent inspection of propellers in meteorological conditions suitable for icing and others.Item Influence of stress on the performance of pilots in training(University of Žilina, 2022) Goldschmidt, Jakub; Kandera, BranislavThis paper deals with the influence of stress that affects pilots in training, how stress affects their daily lives, but especially how it affects their concentration and performance during pilot training. It describes what risks, whether mental or physical, can occur to pilots in training. It also discusses about the factors that affect pilots. One of the factors is the kinetosis, to which more attention is paid and which had also become the subject of the research in this diploma thesis. The aim was to use a questionnaire to find out whether the pilots in the training encountered signs of motion sickness during the training, how it affected their concentration and how they dealt with these situations. In conclusion, based on these responses, we suggested possible preventive solutions for other future novice pilots on how to avoid motion sickness and if it had already occured, how it should be eliminated as much as possible not to affect performance and concentration of pilots.Item Specific risks of helicopter aerial works and their elimination(University of Zilina, 2022) Hajduková, Gréta Mária; Kandera, BranislavSafety is the highest priority in all aspects of air transportation. This paper is focused on different hazards and risks that might be encountered by helicopters during different types of aerial works and offers ways to mitigate those risks. The introductory part lists companies who are currently licensed for helicopter aerial work in Slovakia and outlines different types of aerial works. The methodology process describes four steps, which are then executed in the central part of the paper. The main part was written as a result of combining two different approaches to hazard identification – reactive and proactive – which encompassed studying and analyzing reports from helicopter accidents and incidents, as well as brainstorming techniques with assistance from aviation professionals. The results provide different mitigating techniques to lower assessed risks to tolerable values, along with alternative proposals of risk mitigation to air operators.Item Výcvik pilotov bezpilotných prostriedkov(University of Zilina, 2022) Kováčiková, Kristína; Kandera, Branislav; Kováčiková, MartinaUnmanned aerial vehicles are a part of a fast-growing aviation sector that has the potential to create new jobs as well as economic growth in the individual countries of the European Union. Unmanned aerial vehicle is a relatively new concept compared to the aircraft and it is possible to still find shortcomings in pilot training. The aim of the scientific paper is to map the current state of pilot training regarding unmanned aerial vehicles and to determine the level of demand for the implementation of an unmanned aerial vehicle flight simulator in the flight training of pilots of unmanned aerial vehicles at the Department of Air Transport at the University of Žilina.Item Development of flight instruments for general aviation aircraft(University of Zilina, 2022) Ďuricová, Ema; Kandera, BranislavGiven the constantly evolving offer proposed for aircraft equipment, the aim of my work is to describe the innovations, that have been implemented in aircraft instruments. The content of the work is divided from the very beginnings of aircraft instruments and their gradual use and expansion. Subsequently, I deal with the data that are displayed by the devices, but also their design and the comparison of the current state compared to the initial versions. Innovations of aircraft instruments are focused on both components and the display of flight data, which leads to simplification of their operation and individual assembly. One of the advantages of modern instruments is their ability to detect errors that may occur during the flight, which serves the pilots to ensure the flight. Furthermore, I focused on the system of collection, processing and evaluation of information, as well as their final production on board the aircraft. My work is mainly focused on the Dynon system, whose functions, display and implementation I described in detail, use and design in aircraft cockpits. The main goal of the thesis is additional processing of information for the subject Aircraft Instruments I and their processing from the student's point of view.Item Monitoring of technical state of unmanned aerial vehicles(University of Zilina, 2022) Lagin, Samuel; Kandera, BranislavThe aim of this work is to study current possibilities of monitoring the technical state of the unmanned aircraft from the most basic activities to the more advanced aircraft systems. Partial goal is to create a simple general maintenance checklist for cases when the manufacturer does not publish any maintenance procedures, or the manufacturer is the owner and pilot of the aircraft, in case of DIY aircraft. Theoretical part is devoted to description of most common components of current UAVs and their possible failures and stating current possibilities for maintaining awareness of the technical state of the aircraft prior to, during and after the execution of a flight. Second part will state how to extract the flightlogs and what tools can be used to analyze them. The result of this work is creating general maintenance checklists as well as stating the information about the process of modifying this checklist for the UAV in question. Mentioned checklists will be created for pre-flight, post-flight and regular maintenance check.Item Prototyp simulátora letového environmentálneho laboratória Evirolab(University of Žilina, 2021) Janovec, Michal; Materna, Matúš; Pecho, Pavol; Kandera, Branislav; Radosa, FilipThe aim of this paper is to create a solid structural platform for the placement of computer equipment and other computer accessories to create a flight simulator from scratch. The simulator will be designed to help pilots in training get accustomed to basic flight procedures and the behavior of aircraft control surfaces during flight. Practical part deals with the design of a simulator inspired by the airplane Zlín Z 242 L, the selection of suitable material and technology to produce this simulator and the measurement of most important dimensions required for the making process. Obtained dimensions will be used to model the structure in a three-dimensional plane with the help of computer aided software, in order to create blueprints of our simulator structure. Said blueprints will be later used to cut building materials to required length and to assemble the construction frame. Last pages are dedicated to seating all required computer software directly on the frame in the correct manner.Item Rozbor bezpečnosti letov UAV a konspekt aktuálnych legislatívnych požiadaviek(University of Žilina, 2021) Škultéty, Filip; Kandera, Branislav; Janovec, MichalDespite the recent legislation, which has been formed in the last five years to its current form, the safety for the UAV operation is borne by the pilot, as he/she is the one who is responsible for the direction of UAV movement thus for any collision. For this reason, it is necessary to increase the safety of UAV operations outside the duties and competencies of the pilot at a distance, for example, through anti-collision systems and air traffic management systems. This article was initially focused on analysing aviation events in Slovakia associated with the operation of the UAV. Another factor that significantly affects the operation of UAVs to a large extent is the legislation itself. A special part was devoted to the legislation in terms of airspace determination, procedures and rules of operation of the UAV. From a legislative point of view, it is currently an important aspect to define the correct and reasonable level between the restrictions in order to increase the safety of operation only on an indispensable scale, not to be very restrictive to operators.Item Previerka osoby od roku 2022(University of Žilina, 2021) Lysina, Karol; Kandera, BranislavCivil aviation is constantly evolving, undergoing various changes. A background check of a person as a part of aviation security processes is no exception. This paper which deals with the issue of background check of a person in civil aviation in the conditions of the Slovak Republic and is divided into three main parts. The first part is focused on the basic definitions and requirements for background check of a person that are based on current EU and national legislation and on comparison with the legislation in the Czech Republic. The second part deals with changes in EU legislation in the field of background check of a person. The last part presents the necessary need for changes in national legislation caused by changes in EU regulations and a proposal for changes in national legislation in conjunction with practical experience in the process of background check of a person in the past and present
