Item Advancements in VDL and CPDLC: revolutionizing European aviation communication(University of Žilina, 2023) Novák, Andrej; Kováčiková, KristínaThe paper is focused on the transformative impact of VDL and CPDLC on aviation safety, efficiency, and reliability. Tracing the historical evolution from radio systems to the adoption of VDL and its integration within Europe's unified airspace initiatives, this paper deals with key theories including VDL Mode 2, ACARS, Aeronautical Telecommunication Network, ADS-B, and CPDLC. Emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration to tackle communication challenges, the paper spotlights CPDLC's evolution integrating AI, Machine Learning, cybersecurity protocols, and technological integrations like 5G and satellites. Human-Computer Interaction research underscores user-friendly CPDLC interface designs. Methodologies encompass operational analyses, communication protocols, avionics technologies, and usability testing. Aligning with the Single European Sky initiative, the integration of VDL and CPDLC anticipates emerging trends while addressing challenges like interoperability, training complexities, and cybersecurity vulnerabilities through proposed solutions. The paper offers a comprehensive understanding of advancements shaping the modern aviation communication landscape.Item Vplyv pandémie na kvalitu služieb poskytovaných na letisku(University of Žilina, 2023) Kováčiková, Kristína; Baláž, Martin; Kováčiková, Martina; Vaculík, JurajTo keep pace with the rapid evolution of airports, it is essential to integrate multiple systems and smart solutions within the airport. However, the integration of such technology requires significant time, patience, and financial investment. The focus of this paper is on the quality of airport services in the aftermath of the pandemic. The pandemic has provided an opportunity for many airports to adopt smart technologies and solutions, which promote safety and provide passengers with a seamless, contactless experience. The objective of this study is to evaluate the current state of airport services following the pandemic by conducting primary research among airport passengers.Item AMSS in Europe(University of Žilina, 2022) Novák, Andrej; Kováčiková, KristínaNowadays, technology is developing rapidly, therefore satellite and aviation systems need to keep pace with modern trends and new technology. The paper is focused on satellite systems and aviation systems. Based on analysis of the issues it is possible to take measures against problems that may arise in the future. There is a need for satellite-based navigation system that can solve the problems of the existing systems and make the existing systems better and more efficient by providing great convenience to the airspace users for the safe, efficient, comfortable and economical realisation of flights in the future. The paper contains information about Air Communication and Navigation Systems and discusses the state of current aviation and satellite systems.Item Výcvik pilotov bezpilotných prostriedkov(University of Zilina, 2022) Kováčiková, Kristína; Kandera, Branislav; Kováčiková, MartinaUnmanned aerial vehicles are a part of a fast-growing aviation sector that has the potential to create new jobs as well as economic growth in the individual countries of the European Union. Unmanned aerial vehicle is a relatively new concept compared to the aircraft and it is possible to still find shortcomings in pilot training. The aim of the scientific paper is to map the current state of pilot training regarding unmanned aerial vehicles and to determine the level of demand for the implementation of an unmanned aerial vehicle flight simulator in the flight training of pilots of unmanned aerial vehicles at the Department of Air Transport at the University of Žilina.Item Analysis of smart solutions in the field of airport maintenance within international airports(University of Zilina, 2022) Krajcer, Marek; Kováčiková, KristínaThe paper deals with the analysis of various smart solutions that can be implemented in airport maintenance. The aim of this paper is to compare the current situation in Slovakia with smart solutions that have been used in the world and to suggest which of the solutions could be implemented in Slovakia. The theoretical part describes the purpose of smart airports and conventional methods of airport maintenance. The next part of the paper is devoted to the description of the current state at the airport in Bratislava and a description of smart solutions used around the world. These may include: scaring birds with drones, snow removal with autonomous ploughs, mowing lawns with robotic mowers, inspection of the Instrumental Landing System ILS with drones and inspection of the Precision Approach Path Indicator PAPI with drones. The last part of the paper compares conventional maintenance methods used at the airport in Bratislava with their smart solutions used around the world. The evaluation includes a proposal for smart solutions which could effectively be used at Bratislava Airport.Item Customer requirements for airport mobile applications(University of Zilina, 2021) Kováčiková, Kristína; Materna, Matúš; Baláž, MartinDigital technologies are increasingly entering into the day-to-day life of everyone. It is possible to observe it in every area, and air transport is no exception. In the context of the digital transformation of air transport, the potential is tremendous, and enterprises in air transport are being forced to constantly introduce new digital technologies to keep up with the competition. The significant trend now is to carry all the information in the pocket - in the smartphone. Many airports around the world are introducing digital technologies into all processes in the airport environment, including the implementation of a mobile application. Competent representatives of many airports have understood that the introduction of modern services can motivate passengers to make more use of the airport and help increase attractiveness and improve the perception of the airport. The aim of this scientific article is to identify requirements of passengers and their expectations from the airport mobile application.Item Life cycle assessment of the environmental impacts of transport infrastructure and individual modes of transport(University of Zilina, 2021) Kováčiková, Kristína; Kazda, AntonínThe paper is focused on the assessment of the environmental impacts of transport infrastructure and individual types of transport using the life cycle assessment method. The paper contains a description of the basic terminology of the problem related to transport, the environment and methods of environmental impact assessment. The paper contains analysis on monitoring carbon dioxide emissions from a global perspective as well as from a regional perspective focused on Slovakia. The aim of the paper is to create a proposal for the assessment of environmental impacts of transport infrastructure, in the form of specification of areas of assessment for selected types of transport with a focus on carbon dioxide emissions. Using the knowledge and principles of the life cycle method, a proposal for relevant indicators and a proposal for a comprehensive assessment of the impacts of selected types of transport, focused on carbon dioxide emissions, is created in the paper
