Item Společenská zodpovědnolst evropských leteckých společností v post-covidovém období(University of Žilina, 2025) Maintoková, Aneta; Tomová, AnnaThis article deals with the issue of corporate social responsibility of European airline companies. The main objective of the article is to analyze the approaches between traditional and low-cost carriers, focusing on the period before the pandemic, during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The article focuses on a qualitative evaluation of the annual reports of twenty selected European companies. The research showed that traditional airline companies pay more attention to individual aspects of corporate responsibility and focus on all their areas from environmental initiatives to social and ethical efforts. In contrast, low-cost airline companies primarily focus on ecological efficiency and the reduction of emissions with the aim of cost optimization. The COVID-19 pandemic affected both spectrum and content of CSR activities, which were limited during the crisis period. After the pandemic, airline companies are once again placing greater emphasis on corporate social responsibility in their strategies. The article demonstrates that corporate social responsibility is no longer just a tool for improving the image of airline companies but is becoming a strategic part of their management. The conclusions of the article may contribute to a deeper understanding of the ways in which CSR can enhance the competitiveness of airline companies.Item The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economic performance of the European air carriers(University of Zilina, 2022) Mikulášiková, MichaelaThe outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic which was officially declared in March 2020 as a whole new global risk, has negatively affected operations in all industries around the world. Air transport was one of the first sectors to be affected the most by this event as the disease has been easily transmittable among people. As a measure to prevent the spread of the disease, governments around the world have severely restricted international commercial air traffic. These travel measures have significantly reduced the market value of airlines operating scheduled passenger air services worldwide, where operations have had to be largely limited or even canceled by air carriers. These facts motivate to research the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the performance of air carriers, which is also the main aim of this paper. This paper examines the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on 15 European airlines using economic analysis of the influence of the determining factors.Item Vplyv pandémie Covid-19 na jednotlivé sektory národného hospodárstva vo vzťahu k zamestnanosti(University of Zilina, 2021) Štalmachová, Katarína; Strenitzerová, MarianaThe COVID-19 pandemic brought rapid and unexpected changes that previous contingency plans and teams were not prepared for.
