Item Sustainable aviation fuel from the perspective of long-term sustainability and development(University of Žilina, 2022) Šajbanová, Kristína; Janovec, Michal; Zachar Kuchtová, JanaThe aim of the article is to create a SWOT analysis of the position of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) as an innovative available product on the aviation fuel market and to evaluate its development and application in the coming years. The motivation for the analysis and subsequent creation of this work is the fact that the topic of sustainable aviation fuels is currently extremely actual and also relevant for the future of air transport, as well as the future of the ecosystem from the point of view of reducing the emission load caused by the emissions of aircraft engines, which have a non-negligible share of the ecological load our planet. Because the combustion process in aircraft engines is the main factor in the creation of emissions, alternative aviation fuels from sustainable sources have been developed in order to reduce them. Thanks to the analysis of the goals of the influential aviation manufacturers, we found that the attention paid to the implementation of sustainable fuel is currently and will be given increased attention in the future. Achieving this goal will be made possible through technological advances and governance adjustments in many companies affecting aviation, from aircraft and fuel manufacturers to institutions dealing with administrative matters affecting aviation.Item Ecological Impact of Changes in Transport Organisation in Martin with Using Transport-Planning Software(University of Zilina, 2018) Palúch, Ján; Čulík, Kristián; Synák, František; Hammer, Juraj; Mikulski, JerzyUsing motor vehicles, which uses fossil fuels, is connected with emissions. The main goal of cities, towns and also of the state is to keep these emissions as low as possible. Vehicles move on a traffic network where they are forced to accelerate and decelerate due to various impacts. Junctions and traffic jams are examples of these impacts. An important task is to build transport networks and junctions where vehicles can cross the junction as quickly as possible without unnecessary delay and a significant change in speed. This can contribute to lower vehicle fuel consumption and thus lower emissions.Item The impact of roof box on fuel consumption(University of Zilina, 2017) Synák, František; Rievaj, VladimírPassenger vehicles are major petroleum consumers and contributors of greenhouse gas and criteria pollutant emissions in many countries around the world. The amount of fuel consumed affects the environment, status of health of human population as well as financial costs that are associated with vehicle operation. The roof box is one of the often used vehicle attachments. The aim of the paper is to measure the increase of fuel consumption affected by an installed roof box. The impact of roof box on the increase of fuel consumption is measured at the speeds of 50 km.h-1, 90 km.h-1 and 130 km.h-1. The introduction of the paper describes particular harmful constituents of exhaust gases and their effects. Another part of the article includes the methodology of measurement and its results. The last part of the article involves the evaluation of results and recommendations relating to reduction of the increase of fuel consumption affected by roof box.
