Item Development of the design of an experimental long-range fixed wing uav(University of Žilina, 2023) Suk, MichalThe goal of the article is the design and assembly of a flight-capable platform for testing an experimental hybrid drive developed within the grant project. The input for the entire work is designed for the highest take-off weight of 10 Kg and a pair of driving electric motors with a thrust of 5 Kg each (49,05 N). The content of the article includes basic theory, analyses, simple structural calculations and design methods, the design itself, construction methodology and work results. Analyzes in the article include analyzes of currently used types for the design and construction of hybrid unmanned aerial vehicles and analyzes of materials used for UAV structures with a piston propulsion unit, on the basis of which the design and construction of the UAV was proposed. As part of the design, the construction and design are recalculated and simulated both aerodynamically and strength-wise. Several software were used in the design and simulations: AutoCAD Inventor for modeling and strength analyses, Autodesk CFD for airfoil simulations and XFLR5 for the aerodynamics simulation of the UAV design. In the practical part, the production methodology is described in detail and illustrated with original photographs.Item Accuracy of digital terrain model on forest roads using airborne LIDAR and UAV point clouds(University of Žilina, 2023) Kardoš, Miroslav; Ferenčík, MichalA sufficiently dense forest road network is a basic prerequisite for the professional management of forests on the basis of close to nature management. For the purposes of forest management, it is of great importance to determine the state of damage of forest roads, to plan their reconstruction and to calculate the costs of their repair. The dominant method for forest mapping is photogrammetry, which is currently combined with airborne laser scanning data. The combination of these two methods makes it possible to obtain up-to-date and representative forest and landscape information for the purpose of professional and sustainable forest management in the context of 'precision forestry', which is based on the use of detailed site-specific information for the planning, management and implementation of forestry activities. In this paper, we discuss the application of the mentioned remote sensing methods for modelling the surface of selected forest road sections and evaluating the elevation accuracy of the data used. From the point of view of the methods used, both appear to be very suitable for the purpose of detailed surface mapping, condition and damage assessment, or for the optimization and design of new roads.Item Výcvik pilotov bezpilotných prostriedkov(University of Zilina, 2022) Kováčiková, Kristína; Kandera, Branislav; Kováčiková, MartinaUnmanned aerial vehicles are a part of a fast-growing aviation sector that has the potential to create new jobs as well as economic growth in the individual countries of the European Union. Unmanned aerial vehicle is a relatively new concept compared to the aircraft and it is possible to still find shortcomings in pilot training. The aim of the scientific paper is to map the current state of pilot training regarding unmanned aerial vehicles and to determine the level of demand for the implementation of an unmanned aerial vehicle flight simulator in the flight training of pilots of unmanned aerial vehicles at the Department of Air Transport at the University of Žilina.Item Possibilities of using unmanned aerial vehicles in forestry and agriculture(University of Zilina, 2021) Ďatko, Ondrej; Kandera, BranislavThis work analyzes the penetration of the aviation, forestry and agriculture sector and aims to present forestry and agricultural activities where there is the possibility of using unmanned aerial vehicles. In the first chapter, the work deals with the characteristics of unmanned aerial vehicles, remote sensing, forestry and agriculture. The second chapter deals with a particular analyzes of scientific papers, articles and internet research, and on the basis of these analyzes presents examples of activities in which unmanned aerial vehicles can be used. The third chapter provides an overview of technological and software equipment needed to perform such activities or aerial work. In the fourth chapter, through the practical part, work focuses on examining the use of the mid-class unmanned aerial vehicle model for the plant health analysis, while providing justifications and findings from the results. As part of the practical part, it also provides practical information for the individual steps during the planning and operation of flight. In the fifth chapter, the work briefly summarizes the information and results collected, from which it suggests some possibilities for the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, such as their use in the vaccination of foxes, and the recommended procedures for operating flights or aerial work.Item Design of the reference model of the aero l-39 aircraft(University of Zilina, 2021) Staňa, Ján; Škultéty, FilipThe object of the research of the paper is to design a reference model of an unmanned aircraft according to the model of the training jet Aero L 39. The work contains an analysis of the methods, procedures and typology used in the creation of reference models. Subsequently, the design of an unmanned vehicle was created using computer modelling, which was subjected to aerodynamic simulations and strength analysis. Aerodynamic performance was investigated on the airframe of the aircraft and strength analyses were determined on specific structural elements. After successful program tests, a functional model of the aircraft was built. The prerequisite was mainly aerodynamic analyses, which should determine with sufficient accuracy the basic structure of the model's flight. The result of solving the problem is a functional model of the aircraft, which is suitable for flight tests using appropriate hardware.Item The use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the mountain rescue service(University of Zilina, 2021) Gánovský, Martin; Kandera, BranislavThe theme of paper is the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the Mountain rescue service. At the beginning, a brief summary about the history and development of unmanned aerial vehicles is made, starting from the very beginning to their gradual integration into the rescue systems all around the world. This part is followed by an analysis of the currently valid Slovak legislation regulating the rules of flying with unmanned aerial vehicles on the territory of Slovak Republic, which also affects the flight operations of mountain rescuers. Author also included an analysis of the European legislation, which should gradually replace the currently valid Slovak legislation and unify the rules of operation of unmanned aerial vehicles on the territory of the member states. The third chapter describes the use of specific types of unmanned aerial vehicles used by the Mountain rescue service of Slovak Republic and also of other European countries. We focused on the operational advantages and disadvantages compared to other types of aircraft technology used in the mountain rescue systems. The last part consists of an analysis of available equipment used in conjunction with unmanned aerial vehicles during avalanche accidents. Part of the work is also researching the possible extensions of mountain rescue operations by the implementation of modern avalanche beacons attached on the unmanned vehicles. In a research we focused mainly on the possible interference caused by the operation of unmanned aerial vehicle in close vicinity of an avalanche beacon.Item DETEKCIA A OCHRANA OBJEKTOV PROTI PREVÁDZKE BEZPILOTNÝCH LIETADIEL(Žilinská univerzita v Žiline, 2020) Bujna, Erik; Škultéty, FilipThe main topic of this bachelor thesis is the detection and protection of objects against the operation of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The necessity of addressing this issue is due to the increasing prevalence of UAVs and increase in reports of airspace penetrations by unauthorised UAV operations. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyse the problem and provide an overview of the possibilities and methods of protection against unmanned aircraft. The first part of the bachelor thesis provides a brief overview of the issue, including terminology, an overview of current legislation, the possibility of using unmanned aircraft together with incidents that have also become the subject of the problem. The following chapters examine in more detail the possibilities of detection and protection against unmanned aircraft. The comparative method compares the positive and negative aspects of individual detection methods. In the third chapter are provided specific solutions which are based on the methods of security protection and defined principles to operators of areas with the necessary security protection. The conclusion of the bachelor thesis includes the analysis of the Bratislava airport surrounding, the definition of the protective zones of airport together with the protective zones of navigation devices. The result is a proposal for implementation of detection system, which should to ensure regular and safe operation and to reduce the risk of flying unmanned aircraft over the airport. The proposal of securing the airport against UAVs offers the possibility to protect the nearest surroundings of the airport from the intrusion of unmanned aircraft and in case of disruption of the covered area of early warning and the possibility of responding to the threat.
