Item Súčasný stav a rozvoj systému pohybových plôch na letisku M. R. Štefánika(University of Žilina, 2024) Adamík, Jozef; Kazda, AntonínIn view of the dynamic development of air transport, it is essential that airport infrastructure is adapted to the requirements of modern aircraft. The thesis analyses the historical development of the infrastructure of M. R. Štefánik Airport (BTS). This research involves guided interviews and questionnaires with seven experts of practice who provided insight into the current state of the BTS airport. These experts were selected from five different areas, including BTS Airport, Air Navigation Service Provider (LPS), noise and vibration assessment (Euroakustik company), runway systems capacity, and the perspective of the Bratislava Metropolitan institute. The aim of the thesis is to propose appropriate recommendations for BTS Airport, the main proposal being the use of one runway (RWY) in 'mix mode' instead of using both RWYs at the same time. This proposal is supported by the cost of the RWY reconstruction, which has been compared with other airports in Europe and North America. To validate the capacity of a single RWY, the Airfield Capacity Spreadsheet Prototype Model (ACRP 79) will be used, in which several inputs have been adjusted according to BTS airport operations such as: aircraft operating from BTS airport, aircraft separations, aircraft approach speeds, and RWY occupancy time. The model simulates operations in August and December 2023 and projected operations in 2028. Other recommendations include modification of some taxiways (TWY), apron modifications, and analysis of the use of jetways on the apron stands. Finally, the impacts of a possible restriction of airport Curfew at BTS are also being examined.Item Inovatívne technológie a nástroje v procese údržby lietadiel(University of Žilina, 2024) Štefaňák, Mattiás; Janovec, MichalThis master thesis aims to analyze and evaluate innovative technologies and tools through new aircraft maintenance. Through a series of extensive theoretical studies and data obtained during real-life cases, this work will aim to identify the latest trends behind this process and evaluate the impact they have on production, safety, maintenance costs. The most complex theoretical section of the work will be related to such an area as a current state of aircraft maintenance, which in turn will have to integrate dependent trends, such as predictive maintenance, digitization, and state-dependent methods. This part of the work will present the latest technological trends of the industry, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, 3D printing, augmented reality and virtual reality .The main part of the work will examine the advantages and disadvantages of these technologies, forms of use of AMO technologies, and proposals for improving technologies, such as improving the current use of electronic tablets in the maintenance process, as well as a proposal for the use of AI within the anti-collision system for movement and manipulation of flight on the ground.Item Analýza palubného vybavenia moderných lietadiel(University of Žilina, 2024) Mikolaj, Martin; Novák, AndrejThis bachelor's thesis provides a detailed overview of the development, history and current status of aircraft on-board equipment. The first part deals with the evolution of cockpits from their origins to modern technological trends and future challenges. The next part analyzes the standards, recommendations and certification processes, with an emphasis on the ergonomics of the cockpit design and the requirements of the international organization for civil aviation. The following section addresses pilot adaptation to new cockpit systems, taking into account factors such as human factors, training and automation risks. In the end, current trends, perspectives of future development and their possible impact on pilots and flight safety are evaluated.Item Návrh zdokonalenia ovládacích prvkov simulátora Zlín(University of Zilina, 2022) Janovec, Michal; Materna, Matúš; Pecho, PavolThis article deals with possible improvements and improvements of the flight simulator Zlín, which is located at the Air Transport Department of the University of Žilina. The construction of the simulator and the basic control and display units of the simulator ere made in the previous period. For the most realistic feeling of flight, it is necessary to constantly innovate and improve the simulator. The created technical improvements of the simulator control panel, the control mechanism of the lateral and ongitudinal tilt, the balance control and the flaps control to this improvement of the simulator. In the article, these performed improvements of the simulator are described in detail. According to these procedures, the proposed improvements were subsequently practically performed on a simulator.Item Changes in airport infrastructure caused by the historical development of aircraft(University of Zilina, 2022) Adamík, Jozef; Kazda, AntonínThe airport infrastructure is constantly influenced by the development of aircraft. It has always been, that the aircraft was first designed, and based on its performance parameters and geometrical characteristics, a space for the airport were sought to serve the new aircraft. Even today, we can see the different development of aircraft in different aircraft manufacturers, which determine how the airport infrastructure will change in the future. In the introductory chapters, we analyze several aircraft requirements for airports that have been affected by changes in ground infrastructure and the subsequent development of airports. The main objective of this bachelor thesis is to document the changes in the airport infrastructure caused by the historical development of aircraft. The discussed development of aircraft and reaches out from the beginning of aviation to the end of World War II through the era of jet aircraft to large-scale long-haul aircraft. Based on the creation of a database of aircraft and a description of typical aircraft representatives of the period, an analysis of their parameters and the described impact on selected airports is performed. Three historical international airports were selected for a detailed analysis of airport development. There are two analyzed airports in Europe: Munich Riem together with Munich - Franz Josef Strauß and Amsterdam Schiphol. In the United States, John F Kennedy Airport is chosen near New York City in terms of the highest airline utilization. Until 1951, selected airports were analyzed from historical footage and, after the publication of ICAO Annex 14 Aerodromes, also documented by changes in the regulation. Airports had to adapt to changes in environmental requirements and the introduction of new technologies in the form of more fuel-efficient and smaller commercial aircraft. One of the benefits of the thesis is to emphasize the need to plan airport changes in relation to the needs of aircraft technology in the future. This area includes the planning and modernization of runways (RWY), terminals, aprons and stands. At present, RWY design pays attention to reducing noise in suburban areas, reducing turn-round time at stands by using jetways, the number of taxiways (TWY) connecting the RWY to the airport and operating aircraft with a smaller code letter.Item Objective evaluation of IFR training flight(University of Zilina, 2021) Mrocek, Andrej; Škultéty, FilipWe are living, working, and most importantly, flying in the 21st century, but in many areas still stick to old customs from the pre-millennial times. I have decided to attempt to improve the quality of flight instruction by implementing modern evaluation and debriefing methods to training flights performed in a flight school where I currently perform the role of a flight instructor. In my paper, I am explaining the way the training course is done in our conditions, how it is already different from other schools, what aircraft we use for training and how I evaluate the results of training flights. My research is about the effects of applying modern debriefing methods in our already modern instrument rating courses.Item Investigation of air accidents and their benefits for safety in CR and SR(University of Zilina, 2021) Broczky, Filip; Novák, AndrejThe aim of this article is to focus on the facts in the field of air accidents and to analyse the current situation, which could help to address the shortcomings. Air transport has been evolving over the years, resulting in some reduction in the number of air accidents. In the first part, I analyse the current state of the topic, compare the data obtained and evaluate them, which gives me a better overview of the actual events. In the second part, I deal directly with the individual steps of the investigation and their sequence. In the following sections, I analyse selected accidents and then try to work out a proposal for a solution that could be beneficial for air safety.Item ALTERNATIVE ENGINE SYSTEMS AND THEIR IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT(Žilinská univerzita v Žiline, 2020) Novák, Andrej; Kováčik, Ľubomír; Lusiak, TomaszThe article deals with the operational characteristics of alternative aircraft propulsion systems and their impact on the environment. Recently, the issue of alternative aircraft propulsion systems has been brought to the forefront. Particularly with reference to the environment, which in the case of aviation is represented by reducing noise emissions while reducing CO2 emissions. These issues are properly addressed by ICAO in its agenda, defining standards for reducing aviation emissions in Annex 16. The University of Žilina has special laboratories dealing with the environmental impact of aviation and subsequent research aimed at reducing it.Item FMEA ANALYSIS OF AUTOMATIC RESCUE PARASCHUTE SYSTEM FOR CIVIL AVIATION(Žilinská univerzita v Žiline, 2020) Pecho, Pavol; Gáborová, Miroslava; Škvareková, Iveta; Ažaltovič, ViliamThe article analyzes the topic of rescue parachute systems, with a focus on pilot parachutes used by civic aviation pilots in emergency situations. The work is in addition to pilot parachutes, focused and most ballistic rescue systems for aircraft and firing parachute systems, which fulfill an equally important role in aviation. The issue was analyzed by FMEA analysis, which was applied to the automatic rescue system. The outcome of this study is the evaluation criteria of current technical systems to reduce the risk number “R”. For each of the safety enhancement solutions, the article contains a separate proposal for technical improvements that are suitable for implementation in practice. Such solutions ultimately represent an increase in civil aviation safety as such.
