The international standard STN EN ISO 21920-1 specifies the rules and methodology for marking the character of the surface profile by profile methods in the technical documentation of the product using graphic marks. The aim of the article is to familiarize the public with the content of the standard included in the Geometrical Product Specification (GPS) system. The changes in the area of default settings concern the introduction of new rules for acceptance of tolerance. The rules determine how the tolerance limits are applied to the measured values of the parameters. The introduced changes benefit the majority of users for prescribing, manufacturing and checking product requirements.en_US
