The objective of this paper is to point out knowledge about numerical forecasting models and meteorological aerodrome reports METAR. Another goal is to observe meteorological phenomena, such as the crossing of fronts through our territory and inversion, because they have a significant impact on air traffic. The last goal is to determine the success of weather forecasts of the numerical forecasting model Aladin. To obtain adequate knowledge for the elaboration of the bachelor thesis, available electronic and book resources were used, which were used for self-study. The whole thesis was prepared under the supervision of the bachelor thesis supervisor. The core of this thesis is theoretical knowledge about the problem and observations, which use the freely available outputs of the numerical forecasting model Aladin, meteorological aerodrome reports METAR and maps of the ground pressure field. The success of weather forecasts using the numerical forecasting model Aladin was also evaluated. While examining the accuracy of predictions of the numerical forecasting model Aladin was found that the success rate is relatively high. It follows that this model can be used as a tool to predict weather conditions for flight.en_US
