Gears are among the most widely used transmission mechanisms, and the gear wheel has become a symbol of mechanical engineering. In operation, high demands are placed on the function of the gears. To achieve them, the production of gears plays an important role. Closely related to the production of gears are the specific questions of manufacturers, which method of gear production to choose. Consideration of economic initial costs, serial production, shape requirements of the gear ring and, last but not least, accuracy also led to the decision. The paper is devoted to the issue of manufacturing an elliptical gear with an asymmetric shape of the tooth profile.en_US
