The work deals with determining the fatigue strength of butt-welded joints of S960MC steel. The fatigue strength of two versions of laser beam welded joints as well as the base material was assessed. To reduce the notch effect of the weld beam, the assessed weld joints were produced in a variety of methods utilizing filler material and additional dressing of the weld beam. The measurements determined variations in each type. The value of the fatigue strength decreased by 50 % to 67 % with respect to the base material, indicating that the notch effect of the weld joint had an impact on the value of the fatigue limit. Despite having relatively low fatigue strengths, both values meet normative standards and can be used in practical circumstances.en_US
