The topic of this article is focused on the impact of climate change on the increasing tendency in the occurrence of hazardous weather phenomena at selected airports in Slovakia. The aim of the article is to confirm or refute the influence of climate change on the increasing frequency of meteorological phenomena in the specified time frame from 2000 to 2019 by means of a comprehensive statistical analysis and statistical summarization of meteorological data. The first part of the article defines the basic terminology related to the climate change and specifies the importance of addressing the issue in the context of aviation safety. For the practical part of the article meteorological reports provided by the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute were used. In the practical part, various statistical methods, and a comprehensive evaluation of the frequency of individual weather phenomena during the analyzed years, were used. The hypothesis of increasing frequency of weather phenomena over the years was statistically confirmed only for thunderstorm activity at one meteorological station.
