Abstract

The paper deals with the issue of the influence of machining strategies and tool parameters on the quality of the machined surface of thin-walled parts made by WAAM technology. The current state of machining thin walled parts is complemented by utting tools in terms of materials, geometry, and tool wear. From the point of view of surface integrity, the roughness and flatness of machined thin-walled parts made of Inconel 718 nickel alloy material will be observed. The machining strategy and cutting tool geometry were designed by experimental machining. The results of the experiment are presented in the conclusion. Achieved experimental results are a contribution to the efforts to expand the knowledge on the topic of machining thin-walled parts.
