Item Ukážka spolupráce katedry požiarneho inžinierstva so závodným hasičským útvarom ZAHAS Žiar nad Hronom pri realizácií praktického cvičenia(University of Zilina, 2022) Rečlo, Rudolf; Marková, IvetaThanks to long-term cooperation between the Department of Fire Engineering with Industrial Fire Department ZAHAS in Žiar nad Hronom under the lead of JUDr. Marián Šmida, an exercise for the development of practical skills regarding firefighting equipment was conducted. Students of first-year master's degree studies, students of third-year bachelor's degree studies and three Erasmus programme students from France attended the exercise. During the practical exercise, students acquired knowledge of the equipment of water tender CAS 32 Tatra 815, extinguishing the fire using a powder handheld fire extinguisher, preparation of hoseline, working with a combined nozzle and vehicle-mounted nozzle.Item Metódy a techniky používané na simuláciu evakuácie davu v reálnom čase(University of Zilina, 2022) Gašparíková, Zuzana; Prievozník, PavolThe article aims to analyse the existing methods for simulating a crowd evacuation at the crisis events utilised in the EU and Slovakia and a design for using these methods aiming at an area evacuation. In the preparatory phase in the prevention area of crisis management, it is significant to count on the variedness of the crisis phenomena that can develop. Therefore, it is a crucial step to select a suitable scenario because by solving a crisis, we protect life and health of people and increase the safety of the population. Protecting the citizens is a system of measures that are ensured based on analysing the given territory and the possible occurrence of an emergency.Item Operácia EUFOR Althea v Bosne a Hercegovine(University of Zilina, 2022) Vaššová, TatianaIn the 1990s, international organisations established close ties with the countries of the Western Balkans to help create stable and prosperous democratic countries and support them on the road to integration into the EU and NATO. The aim of this article is, through methods of analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, generalisation and comparison, to approximate the main reasons for the military involvement of EU in Bosnia and Herzegovina and to describe main reasons for the continued military presence in this Balkan country. This article reviews the longest, almost eighteen years lasting military operation of the EU, EUFOR Althea, and concludes with its possible future development.Item Dokumentácia trojrozmerných trasologických stôp pomocou aplikácie fotogrametrie blízkeho dosahu(University of Zilina, 2022) Adamová, Veronika; Šoltés, Viktor; Boc, KamilThe article focuses on applying the photogrammetric method in securing criminologically relevant traceological tracks. We presented documenting three-dimensional shoe traces in sand and soil. Experience confirms the unsuitability of using some common securing methods, such as casting by gypsum, e.g. with traceological traces in the snow. Such traces cannot be secure by casting, and thus another procedure is used, which is very lengthy and requires up to several hours. Therefore, it is significant to address non-destructive methods and examine their application potential, advantages and disadvantages. This article provides a basic theoretical overview of currently used forensic techniques in documenting the plastic traceological traces, and then presents the issue of photogrammetry in the context of describing the basic principle of operation and its application to forensics. In the methodological part, an overview of individual work steps is provided and the results themselves represent digital 3D models of traceological tracks. The conclusion of the article contains an evaluation of the results of the work, as well as pointing fout the benefits of close-range photogrammetry for forensic practice.Item Analýza výsledkov aplikácie koncepcie CPTED v zahraničí(University of Zilina, 2022) Kubalová, KlaudiaThe process of designing security into architecture is known as "Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design." It includes a design built environment to reduce opportunities and fear of crime. Crime prevention through environmental design can help with reducing the chances of committing crimes and also can provide guidance to property owners on how to protect their property. There is not enough information about the concept in the territory of the Slovak Republic, so the objective of this article is to point out its effectiveness. The effectiveness of the CPTED concept will be demonstrated through an analysis of implemented projects abroad, which have confirmed that the concept is an effective, successful and feasible multidisciplinary prevention strategy.Item Jaderné, radiologické a chemické zbraně, radiační a chemické havárie(Žilinská univerzita v Žiline, 2022) Princ, IvanIn addition to the professional description of the history of development and use of nuclear, radiological weapons, chemical weapons and radiation and chemical accident cases, their destructive effects and principles of protection against them the e-book also contains original case studies on the consequences of nuclear accidents and incidents such as Jaslovské Bohunice (Slovakia, 1971), Tree Mile Island (USA, 1979), Chernobyl (Ukraine, 1986), Fukushima (Japan, 2011) and also oncerning hitherto known and potential scenarios of so-called CBRN terrorism using radioactive materials. In the field of nuclear and radiological weapons, the e-book also contains a historical excursion into past nuclear crises and the subsequent period of nuclear disarmament efforts in the world. In their e-book, the authors also address the secondary effects of depleted uranium munitions on both the population and soldiers at the sites of use of these munitions in the war in the states of the former ugoslavia in the 1990s. In the field of chemical weapons and chemical accidents, the e-book contains case studies of the misuse of neuroparalytic substances such as "Novičok" from the Russian military chemical project "Foliant".Item Crisis (un)preparedness in the healthcare sector in the Czech Republic(University of Zilina, 2022) Klementová, IvetaThis article deals with crisis (un)preparedness in health care in the Czech Republic. In the descriptive part we can find the current state of knowledge of crisis preparedness in the Czech Republic, including a description of individual institutions working in this field. Emphasis is also placed on the connection with the current legislation describing crisis preparedness in health care, i.e. the role of the Ministry of Health, health stations, ambulance services or hospitals. The descriptive part concludes that the currently set system has its loopholes. Therefore the article also suggests possible improvements in chapter 2. It focuses on conducting a thorough risk analysis, crisis planning and its prompt updating, and, last but not least, it also points out the method of verification of the set rules, i.e. exercises. The present article is a communication.Item Krízový manažment - celé číslo 1/2022(University of Zilina, 2022)Krízový manažment - celé číslo 1/2022Item Stanovenie teploty vznietenia sena pre účely posudzovania rizík v stredných a malých poľnohospodárskych podnikoch(University of Zilina, 2022) Marková, Iveta; Giertlová, Zuzana; Hutár, MarekHot surfaces are an integral part of the technological processes of agricultural crop processing. Hot surfaces' temperature, at critical points, may exceed their minimum ignition temperature. The article aims to experimentally monitor the behaviour of hay in the event of its exposure to radiant heat. The mentioned model is implemented using a hot-plate device. The hot plate has a defined temperature-time curve. Based on the temperature-time curve, the hot surface´s temperature is determined as the minimum ignition temperature of the examined hay sample. At the same time, the temperatures inside the tested material were monitored. The heterogeneity of these samples significantly affected the nature of thermal degradation of biomass samples. The hay ignition temperature (406 ° C) can serve as a tool to assess the risk of fire.
