Konštrukcia UAV typu VTOL s náhradou mechanického riadenia rotorov softvérovým systémom
(University of Žilina, 2024) Michalík, Matúš; Pecho, Pavol
The article focuses on the construction of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) capabilities, inspired by the American military aircraft V22 Osprey. The main goal of the paper is to design and construct the UAV using software control based on the "virtual swashplate" concept. The paper covers the design, construction, testing, and evaluation of the UAV, including a control system based on a PID control system. Individual chapters are dedicated to the initial design of the UAV, wing construction, main rotor, "virtual swashplate" software solution, control system, and finally, testing and evaluation of the constructed UAV. The paper provides a comprehensive overview of the design, construction, and testing process of a VTOL UAV, focusing on the use of software control and innovative technological solutions.

UAV systémy v procesu sbírání údajů pro využití ve vodním hospodářství

Once every few years there is a necessity to measure the transverse profiles of watercourses within the water management of the Slovak Republic. These are particularly important for the creation of 3D models of watercourses, which aresubsequently used to delineate floodplains or as a means of simulating the maximum possible water flow through a given watercourse. However, the current method of data collection for creating these 3D models is very lengthy and inefficient. Thus, this research is concerned with the design of a new method of data collection for the creation of 3D models, specifically using an unmanned aerial system (UAS) consisting of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and a laser surface scanning technology (LiDAR) device. The objective was to create a 3D model of the crosssectional profile of the selected drainage channel on Rye Island using the proposed UAS, to compare the measured data using an alternative method of measuring the channel bed by technology currently in use (GNSS receiver) and finally to compare the measured data with archival data. Although the proposed UAS measurements showed unquestionable qualities in terms of frequency and speed of data collection, the values measured by the UAS were often inaccurate and did not correspond to reality, mainly due to the high water pollution in one of the monitored areas. For this reason, the proposed method of data collection is particularly suitable for measuring watercourses with a minimum amount of clean water. Unfortunately, there are not many of these watercourses in Slovakia, so this method is not suitable for frequent use in the conditions of water management in the Slovak Republic.

    Vykonávanie bezpečnostnej ochrany civilného letectva
(University of Žilina, 2024) Molčan, Tomáš; Novák Sedláčková, Alena
This paper aims to clarify the implementation of civil aviation security focused on the legal regulation of reliability. The aim of the paper is to analysis and compare the development and differences of the unlawful acts and backround checks legislation from the beginning until today´s standards within national and EU legislation. It discusses the various regulations, conventions, and laws that have contributed significantly to raising the level of civil aviation security. The paper addresses the competence of security personnel, focusing on the individual skills and knowledge required for employment in the different sections of security. A important part is the analyse of the legal regulation of the vetting of persons working in the civil aviation concerning its necessity nowadays, focusing on the national standards and legislation in the countries of Central Europe, as well as the approach of the Slovakia to the implementation of these standards. The paper focuses on the analysis of the legal regulation in the field of background checks and security reliability in the selected EU countries with a focus on Central European countries such as Slovakia, Austria, Poland, and the Czechia. Subsequently, a comparison of the approach to background checks of the selected states is also important. In conclusion, the paper points out the possibilities of the modification of the current Slovak national legislation in the field of civil aviation security using legislative processes and amendments or additions to the Civil Aviation Act, pointing out the approach to this issue by the Transport Authority and airlines.

Aplikačné postupy pre prepravu nebezpečného nákladu v komerčnej leteckej doprave
(University of Žilina, 2024) Burešová, Karin; Rostáš, Ján
This article analyses the transport of dangerous goods, and it focuses primarily on the transport of lithium batteries. To compose this article, we have used various sources, as well as knowledge of the author, gained through the ADR safety advisor training. The IATA DGR Manual was used as the core document for this article as the supporting material for all stakeholders in the process of transport. Based on this document, we have created the theoretical part. The practical part is based on findings of the analysis and documents made by world-recognised companies such as WorldACD, DHL, DSV etc. As the conclusion, we described procedures and the preparation process to transport the lithium batteries.

Oblaky, oblačnosť a ich vplyv na bezpečnosť letectva
(University of Žilina, 2024) Golais, Jakub; Jarošová, Miriam
The aim of the paper is to explain the role of clouds and cloud cover in aviation as it is important to know their base, shape and amount. Consequently, teaching the user to understand the association of clouds with hazardous phenomena and familiarizing them with aeronautical meteorological information will help them avoid such phenomena. The first part of this paper discusses the formation of clouds themselves and describes the factors that contribute to their formation. The following section not only introduces the user to the history of cloud tracking and compares it to its current state, but also provides options on where to look for information on the amount of clouds in the sky. The third section writes about the distribution and coverage of clouds, and follows on from the fourth section, which takes a closer look at the hazardous phenomena associated with some of the clouds. In the last section, the paper presents the current state of weather gauges and the location of airports, which clearly show the differences in equipment and the associated different readings of weather conditions.
