Vychádza spravidla dvakrát ročne. Publikuje vedecké, výskumné, odborné, teoretické práce, návody, štúdie, recenzie, informácie o spracovaní technických materiálov. Zameriava sa na uverejňovanie príspevkov a prác venujúcich sa otázkam z oblasti trieskových a beztrieskových technológií, fyzikálnych princípov, nekonvenčných technológií, technologickosti konštrukcií nástrojov, ekonomike výrobného procesu, ekologizácii, spracovaniu odpadov. Takisto publikuje práce o strojoch, nástrojoch, prípravkoch a meracej technike pre oblasť mechanických technológií, výsledkoch výskumu vo sfére informačných technológií v technologickej oblasti. Uverejňuje práce o histórii a vývine mechanických technológií. Časopis zverejňuje príspevky v jazykoch: slovenskom, českom, poľskom, ruskom, anglickom a nemeckom.

    Ochrana kovových materiálov pred chemickým vplyvom prostredia pri ohreve

    Protecting metal components from chemical influences during heat treatment is important due to corrosion, where metals can react at high temperatures and subsequently weaken the component. Due to oxidation, metals can oxidize, meaning they react with oxygen in the air. This process can create oxide layers that can be brittle and peel off, exposing fresh metal that can further oxidize. Chemical reactions can change the structure of the metal, leading to its weakening and increased susceptibility to mechanical damage.

    Currently, high demands are placed on the costs associated with the production of products, therefore it is advisable to know the individual characteristics of materials that are used in industry. The article deals with the influence of mold temperature on the mechanical properties of aluminium alloy. By knowing the characteristics of individual materials, it is possible to effectively design and manufacture equipment that will be safe and suitable for the given application. In many cases, aluminium alloys are offered as a solution, which are considered innovative construction materials, mainly because of the perfect combination of their properties.

    The experiment is focused on the influence of heat treatment, solution annealing and subsequent sensitization of stainless steel 1.4845. In the experiment, a suitable thermal cycle of solution annealing and subsequent sensitization is designed. Subsequent comparisons of the microstructure and hardness of steel 1.4845 before and after the proposed heat treatment

    Powder metallurgy is a method of producing materials and products with required properties and required exact shapes. The development of new materials contributes to this. The general advantage of powder metallurgy is the possibility of producing parts of complex and precise shapes in large series and optimized production costs, resulting from lower energy requirements compared to casting and chip machining.
