Conversion of passenger aircraft to cargo versions
(University of Zilina, 2022) Mlynarčík, Martin; Janovec, Michal
In this presented paper on the topic of conversion of passenger aircrafts to cargo versions, the use of this transformation in the modern history of aviation is analyzed and the current situation is analyzed. For a better introduction to the issue, the introductory part defines the fundamental terms and explains the conversion itself and its various stages. The paper also discusses the companies that provide services for the actual conversion of passenger aircraft and the location where this process takes place. The paper is further supplemented by individual types of aircraft, which are divided according to global manufacturers such as the American Boeing and its European competitor Airbus. The main goal of this paper is to bring closer and clarify this process, which has gained momentum in recent years and has great potential for the future. This paper is very significant in case of COVID-19 pandemic and its huge influence on general aviation when there is enormous demand of conversion passenger aircrafts to cargo versions. The most common causes of conversion, advantages and disadvantages are also included. The conversion process itself is described in more detail and the paper focuses on the various technical phases of the aircraft conversion itself.

Mass and performance estimation of hydrogen and battery powered transport aircraft concepts
(University of Zilina, 2021) Babčan, Viktor; Janovec, Michal
This article introduces the scope and activities linked to an end of studies project. This project is a collaboration between UNIZA and ENAC and includes work of Pascal Roches and Thierry Druot on top of the student and his UNIZA tutor mentioned above. This article describes the environment of ENAC and the particular department CADO in which the project is being accomplished. It also sets the definition of the project, its main goals and deliverables. Finally, it shows methods of the work that has been done so far, that is the completion of the database of 324 commercial aircraft, which took the largest amount of time so far. It also introduces the software, which will be used to define different models required to calculate initial dimensions and performance parameters of battery or fuel cell concept aircraft.

Design and configuration of the instrumentation of the Zlín 242L simulator
(University of Zilina, 2021) Lenár, Jakub; Janovec, Michal
Flight simulators play an important role in pilot training around the world. They contribute to increasing the safety of air traffic, allow you to practice emergency situations and non-standard procedures and thus prepare pilots for dangers during real flight. The need for the Zlín 242L simulator arose during the procurement of this type of aircraft for the Aviation Training and Education Center of the University of Žilina. The paperdeals with the design and arrangement of the instrument part of the simulator, while the design is based mainly on the flight manual of the aircraft Zlín 242L. The theoretical part of the paper describes the basic requirements for flight simulators, categorization of flight simulators and within the instrumentation focuses on ways of displaying on-board flight data, describes the display devices within simulator space and examines the requirements for displayed data needed for flight. The result of the paper is the design of simulator instrumentation and subsequent construction of the simulator, which will serve students of the Department of Air Transport for training procedures during the flight on a given type of aircraft, familiarization with aircraft instrumentation, or training in non-standard and emergency situations

Disassembly, inspection, repair and assembly techniques
(University of Zilina, 2021) Littva, Matúš; Janovec, Michal
The aim of this article is to present the current techniques of disassembly, control, repair, and assembly of aircraft components. It reproduces proven but also modern procedures used in aviation practice. The article is divided into several consecutive parts. The first part is a preface which is a kind of introduction to the issues. The following section is an analysis of available sources of information about maintenance of aircraft components. The third part is the content core, in which we describe the basic techniques of aircraft maintenance. Mentioned part containsinformation about the inspection techniques, corrosion treatment procedures, repairs of structural components and typical non-destructive tests. In the last part, we derive the conclusions and emphasize the importance of the described maintenance procedures in the future. We have included several illustrations in the article for better understanding.

Creating study materials – bearings, shafts, springs and gears
(University of Zilina, 2021) Veselovský, Šimon; Janovec, Michal
The main goal of this article is to acquaint the reader with the topic of the author's bachelor's thesis. The article deals with the theoretical part of the creation of study material for bearings, shafts, spirngs and gears. its goal is to acquaint the reader with the toppic. The article introduces the mentioned machine parts, their more detailed description and practical examples of use in practice. Each chapter contains, in addition to the description, also graphic examples of the best possible use of the material in teaching. The aim is to create a comprehensive study material with practical examples in the Slovak language.

    HYBRIDNÉ POHONY LIETADIEL
(Žilinská univerzita v Žiline, 2020) Dančová, Dominika; Janovec, Michal
The aim of this paper is to evaluate the propulsion of aircraft from the present to the future development of the aviation industry. The paper describes the negative effects on the environment, new possible solutions for drives, as well as design modifications of engines. The first chapter is focused on the current propulsion of aircraft and their basic division. Described piston and jet engines. The second and third chapters describe the propulsion of hybrid and electric aircraft. They have great potential for reducing fuel consumption in aviation, as fuel prices are constantly rising. Hybrid electric propulsion systems not only provide fuel economy benefits, but also reduce take-off noise and emissions. The final chapter is focused on the results of research into the development of hybrid and electric drives, evaluated possible assumptions of success of individual parts.
