Item Improving acces to aircraft meteorological data relay AMDAR(University of Zilina, 2021) Bušovský, Michal; Jarošová, MiriamPaper deals with the use of aircraft sensors to obtain meteorological parameters required for predictive weather models, using parameters in ATM and meteorological research. It focuses on the current state of the problem of data acquisition, using the AMDAR system. Comparative use of data from other data sources such as Mode S EHS and Mode S MRAR. By building the necessary infrastructure or equipping of commercial aircraft. Within the paper is developed a methodology, which deals with obtaining data from LPS SR š.p., necessary for the comparison of different systems. The impact of the AMDAR system on aircraft instruments and on the safety of air traffic. Based on the analyzed facts, examples of the use of the system are pointed out, but also of the problems associated with this system.Item Comparison of fog occurrence at Slovak international airports for the period 1998-2018(University of Zilina, 2021) Michalovič, Adam; Jarošová, MiriamThe aim of the paper is to analyze and compare the occurrence of fog at the international airports of the Slovak Republic in the years 1998-2018. The paper explains the influence of weather on the flight, the influence of meteorological conditions on visibility, defines the fog and describes the international airports - M. R. Štefánik Airport in Bratislava, Košice Airport, Poprad - Tatry Airport and Žilina Airport. Based on the analysis of METAR reports, we found that the average number of foggy days in the monitored period at Žilina Airport was 132.24 days per year. It is followed by Košice Airport (81.33 days), Poprad Airport (77.81 days) and Bratislava Airport (61.33 days). We attributed the high number of days with the occurrence of fog at Žilina Airport to its location, as there are up to nine water reservoirs and the main course of the Váh River in its vicinity. Bratislava Airport has ideal conditions in terms of visibility. According to METAR, 37 % of foggy days were recorded in autumn, 31% of foggy days in winter, 17 % of foggy days in summer and 15 % of foggy days in spring. At international airports, fog in the autumn meteorological period in the observed period from 1998 to 2018 occurred most often from 00:00 to 12:00, ie mainly in the morning and in the morning, with an incidence of 57 % to 71%.Item Weather influence on flight in mountain terrain(University of Zilina, 2021) Galko, Róbert; Jarošová, MiriamThe aim of the paper is to approach and get acquainted with meteorological elements that occur in mountain areas and how their occurrence affects the fluidity and safety of air traffic. The first part of the work was devoted to the history of observing meteorological conditions together with the development of monitored variables, their measurement scales and units used. Subsequently, climatology and meteorology were specified as scientific disciplines and weather in general. Furthermore, in the work we discussed in more detail the part of the atmosphere where the biggest changes in the weather and its creation take place. To illustrate the importance of monitoring and not underestimating meteorological phenomena, we emphasized the failure of the human factor in the most tragic aviation accident that occurred on the island of Tenerife. In the penultimate part of the theoretical part, we paid attention to the meteorological elements themselves, which have the greatest impact on aviation in mountainous areas. In the last theoretical part, we talked about aerial weather reports, which we also decoded. In the practical part, we characterized the airport Poprad-Tatry in terms of location in relation to the surrounding mountains and observed how the investigated meteorological elements affect the area.Item Meteorological radiolocator as a tool to improve meteorological information for aviation(University of Zilina, 2021) Hanuliaková, Radoslava; Jarošová, MiriamThe paper deals with meteorological radar as a tool to improve meteorological information for aviation. The first theoretical part is devoted to the history of weather forecasting and its gradual improvement. The part describes the current state of the problem in the Slovak Republic and in the world. The next part characterizes the meteorological radar, what it is used for and what is its essence. The following is the division of radars, characteristics of the radar network in Europe and the radar network in Slovakia. In the last theoretical part, attention was paid to the merged maps, their individual products - Maximum, CAPPI 2 km, EchoTop and 1h total precipitation. The last part consists in a practical representation and description of individual maps of the cold, warm and occlusive front over the territory of the Slovak Republic. These maps show how the radar captured the weather, SYNOP reports were also used, which provide a more detailed weather forecast, maps of dangerous phenomena for aviation and maps from the OPERA network.Item Meteorological satellite as an important source of meteorological information for aviation(University of Zilina, 2021) Mihalčinová, Nikola; Jarošová, MiriamThis paper is focused on the use of information provided from meteorological satellites in air transport, its development and current status. The work defines general knowledge in the field of meteorology such as the history of meteorological satellites, the division of orbits and current meteorological satellites in orbits. The work also includes the characteristics of measured quantities and monitoring methods. The practical contribution of this work is the analysis of satellite images in Europe. Finally, the work deals with the future use of meteorological satellites and the development of new satellites.Item Flying in wave conditions, priciple of lfying in wave, history and dangers(University of Zilina, 2021) Bajana, Ivan; Jarošová, MiriamFlying in wave is becoming increasingly popular for pilots of gliders and sport engine airplanes. The growing trend of flying inwave conditions can be seen not only in Slovakia but almost all over the world The reason for the increase in the number of the high-altitude flights in the wave is their great potential, which has been demostrated several times in the record books. On the cotrary, for navigation and training flights, the occurence of wave current is unsuitable. It brings with it great risks and dangers that have ended tragically many times in history. For this reason, there is a long and extesive meteorological preparation behind the wave flights. The aim of wave conditions research is to provide information on how to predict wave flow, under what conditions and with at least what equipment it is possible to fly sadely in wave current and what pitfalls and risks wave wave brings with it. The result is a range of information that can be used not only for flights into the wave but also for normal navigation or training flights.
