The article deals with the issue of metal processing by hot forming, in this case by forging. The text points out the supporting facts that influence the possibility of applying combined open and drop forging. This technology will become a good way to achieve optimal results. The theoretical and practical aspects of the analysed process are pointed out. One solution to produce a forging by combined open and drop forging is presented.
