Alternatívne metódy navigácie bezpilotných lietajúcich zariadení
(University of Žilina, 2025) Močková, Chiara; Dianovský, Robert
This article deals with the analysis and comparison of alternative navigation methods for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The aim of the article is to evaluate the effectiveness of selected navigation systems in conditions where traditional GPS-based methods may fail. The introduction presents traditional navigation methods and their limitations. The article focuses on alternative solutions such as visual navigation, celestial navigation, radio signal-based positioning, and inertial visual odometry (VIO). In the final part, the practical implementation of a visual navigation system using drone imagery and satellite images is described, along with the evaluation of its reliability at different flight altitudes. The results confirm the high potential of visual navigation as an independent or complementary system for UAV operations.

Nízko-nákladové podnikanie leteckých dopravcov na dlhé vzdialenosti: úspešný a perspektívny model?
(University of Žilina, 2025) Tomová, Anna; Švancárová, Nikola
The paper discusses some costs and revenues aspects of long-haul low-cost business model of air carriers. The paper confims that the average lifespan of long-haul low-cost carriers has increased in time, supporting in this way the research of competitive advantage of such business model. According to the paper´s findings, existing long-haul low-cost carriers are differently hybridized, and therefore we can pronounce that there is more than one long-haul low-cost business model. In this regard, it is questionable whether the concept of long-haul low-cost carrier is proper in current academic terminology and whether the traditional classification of air carriers business models is still inspiring for academic esearch and managerial practise as well.

Analýza meteorologických balónov a sondážnych rakiet ako nástrojov na výskum atmosféry
(University of Žilina, 2025) Malárik, Samuel; Dianovský, Robert
This paper addresses the utilisation of meteorological balloons and sounding rockets for data collection for meteorological purposes. The first chapter introduces stratospheric balloons, meteorological balloons and sounding rockets. Their properties, components from which they are constructed, and their current applications are described. The second chapter compares the devices from three perspectives. The operational perspective focuses on flight profiles, control systems, possibilities for reusability, and risks associated with operation. The economic perspective concentrates on the costs associated with launches and possibilities for reduction. The legislative perspective examines the existing legislation pertaining to these devices. The third chapter presents a conceptual design for a sounding rocket, based on which approximate costs for its launch are determined. In conclusion are discussed the advantages and disadvantages of weatherballoons and sounding rockets and the potential area of application for sounding rockets in meteorological measurements is identified.

Návrh vernostného programu ako nástroja na zvýšenie zákazníckej lojality v leteckej spoločnosti
(University of Žilina, 2025) Baštáková, Zuzana; Kováčiková, Kristína; Nichtová, Radoslava
This article focuses on airline loyalty programs. The main objective of the article is to design a loyalty program for an airline that will promote customer loyalty. The first chapter presents the theoretical framework, covering key concepts such as customer, customer loyalty, communication tools and customer segmentation in air transport. It also outlines essential insights into the concept and functioning of loyalty programs. The second chapter analyses eight existing airline loyalty programs, each introduced by a brief profile of the respective airline. The effectiveness of each loyalty programs is assessed based on a model that evaluates the system of earning and redeeming points as well as the benefits offered. Subsequently, a comparative analysis of the selected programs is conducted. The third chapter describes the objectives of the thesis and the fourth chapter deals with the methodology of thesis. The methods of literature search, analysis, comparison and questionnaire survey are used in the thesis. The fifth chapter presents the survey results, which serve as the basis for designing the proposed loyalty program. The proposal reflects current customer preferences and has the potential to enhance customer loyalty. The aim of the thesis is fulfilled through a comprehensive analysis, practical research, and the design of an applicable solution that may hold practical significance in the field of airline marketing anagement.

Vplyv geometrie reznej hrany na tvorbu triesky a zložky reznej sily
(University of Žilina, 2025) Mičietová, Anna; Čilliková, Mária
This paper deals with influence of cutting edge geometry on chip formation and components of cutting force components. The insert with the flat surface is compared with the insert containing positive geometry in order to produce acceptable chip form. It was found that cutting forces components are lower for the insert having positive geometry together with the lower energy consumed for chip formation. Furthermore, the acceptable chips in the form of short sequence is developed as contrasted against the insert of flat surface producing long chips. The measured cutting force components are decomposed in order to distinguishes between the components associated with chip formation and energy consumed in the produce new surface. Chip ratio for the flat insert is more and the shearing angle is therefore less.

Giga casting ako technologická revolúcia vo výrobe automobilov
(University of Žilina, 2025) Bolibruchová, Dana
Giga casting is referred to as a technological revolution in automobile manufacturing. Large aluminium castings are increasingly used for the production of automotive vehicles, especially for electric vehicles with low weight and to reduce production costs. Since most of them are structural components loaded quasi-statically, dynamically and cyclically, the quality and quantifiable performance of extremely large aluminium castings is crucial for their production. This article briefly analyses the current state of the art in the field of giga castings, some examples of their use in the automotive industry, their benefits and advantages.

    Opotrebenie strižníkov a ich ostrenie
(University of Žilina, 2025) Moravec, Ján; Melo, Borislav
The paper focuses on the issue of shear wear. Theoretical foundations are presented and an analysis of the issue of sharpening the active parts of the shear tool is also described. Sharpening the shears themselves is an important part of repairing shear tools and their required starting position before setting them on the press.

Analýza stavu povrchu po shot peenovaní duplexnej ocele AlSi 318
(University of Žilina, 2025) Neslušan, Miroslav; Florková, Zuzana
This paper deals with surface integrity and the corresponding stress state as well as surface topography after shot peening of duplex steel AlSi 318 under the variable shot-peening conditions such as number of passes and applied air pressure. It was found that the energy of shot impacts is consumed mainly by austenitic phase whereas the ferritic one is less affected. High magnitude of residual stresses is developed under the higher number of cycles as well as for the higher media pressure. Amplitude of compressive residual stresses in austenite is more as that for ferrite one. Surface roughness is decreasing along with the number of shot peening cycles and the typical crater-like surface is produced.
