    Franchising is an arrangement in which the franchisor gives the franchisee the right to distribute and sell the franchisor’s goods or services and use its business name and business model for a specified period, and possibly covering a geographical area. The postal market is known for the arrival of franchise holders too, but there are certain benefits and disadvantages for the franchisor and the franchisee. The aim of the paper is to identify the benefits (possibilities) and risks (disadvantages) for the postal operator in the position of “franchisor”.

    Franchising is a proven method of earning money, which is now successfully used entrepreneurs in various industries around the world. This also applies for the postal sector. The paper deals with the issue of franchising on the postal market in the Czech Republic. At present, the Czech Republic has the densest postal network in Europe in terms of size and accessibility in terms of population. It is also one of the countries with the lowest share of Partner posts, representing 14.5%.
