Possibilities of implementation remote control towers concept at Slovak airports
(University of Žilina, 2023) Veselovský, Šimon; Badánik, Benedikt
The aim of this article is to evaluate the feasibility of implementing virtual control towers at airports in Slovakia. The introduction provides an overview of virtual control towers, including their concept, usage, advantages, disadvantages, and existing implementations. The paper outlines the requirements for implementing such a system and presents a preliminary design and analysis of virtual control towers for Slovakian airports. The study covers the design and evaluation of the implementation, from a general perspective to specific airport analysis, and proposes a plan for implementing virtual towers in Slovakia based on available information. In conclusion, the author discusses the financial and technical aspects of implementation, as well as an assessment of the suitability of this concept for Slovakian airports. Remote towers have been proven to be a viable option for small and medium-sized airports, offering increased flexibility and cost reduction through centralized remote control of multiple airports. However, implementing virtual control towers in Slovakia would come with significant financial implications.

Prospects for the development of Bratislava Airport and the influence of relations between airlines and the airport on the decisions of the airport management
(University of Žilina, 2023) Pojedinec, Benjamín; Rostáš, Ján
The research deals with the development of Bratislava Airport Milana Rastislava Štefánika. The primary goal of the work is to evaluate the current situation at Bratislava Airport, its equipment, layout, continuity of services, operational performance and evaluation of the airport‘s allocated and used capacity. The research is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part, it is necessary to present a theoretical view of the basic concepts in aviation, the history of Bratislava Airport, the historical development of the number of passengers transported at this airport, the development of airlines operating in Slovakia and their influence on this airport, a brief evaluation of the number of destinations to which Bratislava Airport flies and considering the possibility of specializing this airport as a secondary airport for Vienna Airport. The essence of the practical part is the evaluation of the current situation at the Bratislava airport, the analysis of privatization possibilities and the implementation of a qualitative survey using a questionnaire. Based on the analysis and evaluation from the survey of the opinions of interested subjects, optimal alternatives for the further development of Bratislava Airport are provided in the context of broader management relations with airlines, as well as an evaluation of privatization options and their potential contribution to the development of Bratislava Airport.

Quality of services provided by Boryspil airport
(University of Zilina, 2022) Turkinevych, Yelyzaveta; Badánik, Benedikt
The aim of the diploma thesis is to develop a proposal for the implementation of the SmartGate system to improve the passport control process in international passenger transport services at the Boryspil Airport. The theoretical part deals with the existing methods of evaluating the quality of airport services and offers an algorithm for airport service quality indicators stigmatization. The analytical part of the work is devoted to the analysis of production and financial activities and competitive advantages of Boryspil Airport. In the project part, modern information technologies of air transport services at the world's leading airports were considered and the efficiency of the SmartGate system implementation at Boryspil Airport was calculated.

    Quality of service at airports
(University of Zilina, 2021) Proft, Branislav; Badánik, Benedikt
At present, air transport is on the rise and with it are the airlines, airports and services they provide. Their quality is reflected in revenues as well as in the number of airlines using the airport. The aim of this paper is to evaluate what services are offered to individual airport customers, how to evaluate customer satisfaction with services and the last chapter focuses on evaluating the quality of services offered to airlines and crew, where a method of evaluating services provided by airports from the airlines based on an analysis of current ways of measuring the quality of these services. Finally, possible service improvements are described, which could streamline the operation of the airport.

KONSPEKT AKVIZÍCIE GEOPRIESTOROVÝCH DÁT PRE VYTVORENIE 3D MODELU REFERENČNÉHO LETISKA
(Žilinská univerzita v Žiline, 2020) Škultéty, Filip; Janovec, Michal
When rendering large scenarios for flight simulators, we encounter similar problems as in the case of scenes for cinematography or computer games. In the case of this work, we solve the rendering of the earth's surface for any camera configuration, and we try to maximize the quality of the rendered images without a visible decrease in the rendering frequency. The article is devoted to the creation of a reference model of the Piešťany airport (LZPP) as a part of the scenery for a certified flight simulator. The presented solution maintains a stable 60 frames per second when rendering the airport surface from any distance and direction.

DETEKCIA A OCHRANA OBJEKTOV PROTI PREVÁDZKE BEZPILOTNÝCH LIETADIEL
(Žilinská univerzita v Žiline, 2020) Bujna, Erik; Škultéty, Filip
The main topic of this bachelor thesis is the detection and protection of objects against the operation of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The necessity of addressing this issue is due to the increasing prevalence of UAVs and increase in reports of airspace penetrations by unauthorised UAV operations. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyse the problem and provide an overview of the possibilities and methods of protection against unmanned aircraft. The first part of the bachelor thesis provides a brief overview of the issue, including terminology, an overview of current legislation, the possibility of using unmanned aircraft together with incidents that have also become the subject of the problem. The following chapters examine in more detail the possibilities of detection and protection against unmanned aircraft. The comparative method compares the positive and negative aspects of individual detection methods. In the third chapter are provided specific solutions which are based on the methods of security protection and defined principles to operators of areas with the necessary security protection. The conclusion of the bachelor thesis includes the analysis of the Bratislava airport surrounding, the definition of the protective zones of airport together with the protective zones of navigation devices. The result is a proposal for implementation of detection system, which should to ensure regular and safe operation and to reduce the risk of flying unmanned aircraft over the airport. The proposal of securing the airport against UAVs offers the possibility to protect the nearest surroundings of the airport from the intrusion of unmanned aircraft and in case of disruption of the covered area of early warning and the possibility of responding to the threat.

TVORBA MODELU REFERENČNÉHO LETISKA PRE GENERÁTOR OBRAZU LETOVÉHO SIMULÁTORA
(Žilinská univerzita v Žiline, 2020) Poláček, Jozef; Škultéty, Filip
This paper describes the fundamentals of creating reference airport scenery for the X-Plane flight simulator. The work contains other acquired knowledge that is necessary or useful in the process of creating a scenery for a flight simulator image generator. The introductory part of the work focuses on the history, development and importance of flight simulators and image generators, it points out the importance of their constant development and quality improvement. The theoretical part of the work is mainly focused on defining the basic file types, their description and information about the usage of the rendering pipeline. In the practical part, the work focuses on Bratislava and Piešťany airport scenery development for the X-Plane flight simulator and on the subsequent possibility of using these sceneries for image generator of the L-410 UVP-E20 flight simulator, which is currently operated by the University of Žilina.
