This issue is addressed in two ways, a prescriptive approach using STN 92 0201 - 4 and using the PyroSim modelling tool. The paper contains a description of the calculation of stand-off distances using the prescriptive approach and a description of the determination of stand-off distances using the PyroSim modelling tool with a comparison of the results of the stand-off distances for a selected area of an apartment. This paper aims to highlight the differences that arise in the determination of spacing distances when some input data are changed and to compare them with the results with simulations.Item Využívanie prvkov riadenia rizík pre oblasť športových zranení v kontexte zlepšovania športových výkonov(University of Žilina, 2024) Furiak, KristiánThe growing popularity of sports among the general public creates favourable conditions for the development of sports clubs, which, however, entails many aspects and risk factors with the potential to fundamentally affect the activities and functioning of sports organisations. Given that the sports sector within the Slovak Republic accounts for a significant number of jobs and a share of the national economy, it is in the general interest to address the improvement of conditions and long-term development of sports organisations. Globalisation in the current sports sector inevitably leads to growing competition on the international scene and brings new challenges. One of the fundamental conditions for the success of sports organisations is the satisfactory performance of their athletes. Therefore, this paper aims to investigate the possibilities of implementing risk management frameworks and practices to improve athletes' conditions, especially in the context of the issue of sports injuries. To this end, empirical research procedures were applied, based primarily on the study of literature and the application of scientific procedures of analysis, comparison, induction and deduction. The output will be a proposal of framework procedures for the transformation of standard management methods for their use in the field of sports injury management. The success of a sports organization is contingent on satisfactory sports performance, which depends on optimal conditions for the preparation, health and development of athletes. Therefore, it is advisable to look for ways to systematically and significantly reduce the risks associated with them.Item Kontinuita podnikania ako strategický nástroj v nestabilnom prostredí(University of Žilina, 2024) Kampová, Katarína; Mariš, Ladislav; Lusková, Mária; Dolnák, IvanBusiness continuity management (BCM) has become a critical element in corporate strategy, ensuring organizations are equipped to handle and recover from disruptive incidents and crises. The core of BCM is the business impact analysis (BIA), which assesses the potential consequences of business interruptions to determine the maximum acceptable outage (MAO) critical for designing recovery strategies. This article discusses the application of BIA alongside risk assessment to create a comprehensive framework for organizations to anticipate and prepare for threats, exemplified through a simplified case study that demonstrates how these tools can enhance a company's resilience to unforeseen events.Item Aspekty mravnostnej kriminality v podmienkach Slovenskej republiky(University of Žilina, 2024) Adamová, Veronika; Šoltés, ViktorIn the presented article, we focused on the phenomenology of moral criminality in the conditions of the Slovak Republic, primarily derived from statistical data maintained by the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic. Emphasis was placed primarily on the analysis of the state and elucidation of selected offenses of moral criminality, their level, dynamics, and structure. The first chapter describes the fundamental theoretical foundations of the issue from the perspective of criminology (etiology of moral criminality), as well as from the perspective of criminalistics. From a criminalistic perspective, we focused on describing the criminalistic characteristics of moral offenses, which significantly contribute to understanding the causes and conditions of committing these offenses and contribute to the formulation of effective preventive measures. The result of the research and analysis is the recognition of the phenomenology of the selected criminality in domestic conditions and the description of a possible procedure and process for the prevention of moral criminality.Item Aktuálne trendy v oblasti drogovej kriminality(University of Žilina, 2024) Šoltés, Viktor; Kysela, FilipDrug crime is a specific type of crime that primarily threatens the life and health of an individual who uses drugs. However, it also has a secondary impact on society, in that drug addicts suffer from health problems, the treatment of which is covered by public health funds. At the same time, the sale of illegal drugs is among the most profitable illegal businesses in the world. New types of drugs are increasingly appearing on the market. Largely young people who are not aware of the health risks and the impact on the rest of their lives resulting from the use of these drugs also become users. The aim of the contribution is to analyse drug crime committed in Slovakia with an emphasis on juveniles and to describe the negative effects of selected drugs, the users of which are mainly these persons. The results of the contribution will bring an innovative view of current forms and trends in the field of drug crime, which will be useful in the implementation of drug crime prevention.Item Činnosti informačnej kancelárie pre obete trestných činov(University of Žilina, 2024) Kvašňovská, KatarínaThe article deals with the issue of helping victims of crimes. The activity of these contact points - Information offices - is presented in the contribution.Item Účinnosť preventívnych aktivít realizovaných u vybraných skupín obyvateľstva(University of Žilina, 2024) Uhrínová, PatríciaThe article is dedicated to measuring the effectiveness of preventive activities among a selected group of the population, namely among children and youth aged 13 to 18 in primary and secondary schools and other educational facilities. Determining the effectiveness of preventive activities was carried out using a questionnaire survey, which was distributed among survey subjects before and after the end of the preventive activity. Based on the collected data, the effectiveness of preventive activities was evaluated, taking into account the individual's answers.Item Možnosti využitia dronov bezpečnostnými manažérmi pri ochrane objektov(University of Žilina, 2024) Veľas, Andrej; Boroš, MartinThis article primarily focuses on the physical protection of objects through the use of drones, which falls under the category of security management. The aim of this article is to describe possible methods for property protection with drones or robots and to discuss the advantages, disadvantages, and barriers to their use. During the COVID-19 pandemic, security managers had to address the shortage of personnel affected by COVID-19 or involved in testing and controlling individuals entering facilities. They could not compensate for this shortage with regular employees. Moreover, due to the rising labor costs, they are still seeking effective ways to secure building perimeters. An interesting and promising solution is the use of drones, which is not as simple as it may initially appear. The article contains an analysis of aspects related to the use of drones for property protection from the perspective of opportunities, risks, and protection against their misuse.Item Systém odbornej prípravy pracovníkov súkromných bezpečnostných služieb(University of Žilina, 2024) Zvaková, Zuzana; Boroš, MartinThe article describes the content of the concept of private security and the tasks of the personnel in charge of physical protection under the Private Security Act. The aim of the article is to describe the training system of private security staff set up by law and to identify shortcomings in this system. The training is described through the professional topics that are the content of the training and the associated hourly subsidy. The weaknesses in the system are then described in relation to the private security service, to the customer and to the physical security staff. The article is prepared within the project KEGA 036ŽU 4/2022.
