Item Riadenie rizík spojených s únavou člena posádky(University of Žilina, 2025) Barlík, Miroslav; Kandera, BranislavThis paper investigates crew fatigue risk management in aviation, analyzing legislative frameworks from ICAO, EASA, and Slovak authorities. It explores Fatigue Risk Management Systems (FRMS) as a data-driven alternative to prescriptive flight time limitations. A case study on Žilina Airportevaluates bio-mathematical models, identifying FAID Standard as the optimal solution due to its simplicity, affordability, and suitability for smallscale operations. The study proposes a cost-effective FRMS implementation, offering practical recommendations to enhance aviation safety at regional airports.Item Výška základne oblačnosti na Letisku Žilina pri rozličných poveternostných situáciách(University of Žilina, 2025) Hromadík, Matej; Jarošová, MiriamThis paper focuses on the analysis of cloud base height at Žilina Airport under various weather conditions. The objective of the paper is to analyze the cloud base height in relation to atmospheric fronts, pressure systems, and associated meteorological phenomena that directly affect the safety of air operations, with particular emphasis on training flights conducted under Visual Flight Rules (VFR). The study utilizes METAR reports and synoptic maps provided by the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ). The months of August and November 2024, and January 2025, were selected for examination. Based on these data, an analysis was conducted of the occurrence of different cloud types, their base heights, and related weather phenomena such as fog, rain, thunderstorms, and reduced visibility. The results highlight typical cloud development patterns under specific synoptic conditions, contributing to better planning of air operations and enhancing safety, especially during training flights. The thesis also provides recommendations for increased attention during particular weather situations that may lead to limitations or complete suspension of flight operations.Item The assessment of the catchment area of Žilina airport in terms of inbound tourism(University of Zilina, 2021) Kohútová, Alžbeta; Kazda, AntonínThe aim of the paper is to assess the catchment area of Žilina Airport in terms of inbound tourism, to consider the possibilities of its further development, and to assess potential traffic flows. The first chapter is devoted to the evaluation of current state and accessibility of the region within the realm of air travel. The second chapter describes the acquired theoretical knowledge about tourism which served as a basis for the Žilina Airport catchment area specification, as well as for defining activities, organisations and facilities crucial for the development of inbound tourism in the area. Another part of the final paper is a short questionnaire which details the interest of spa facilities in the airport catchment area to attract groups of clients who utilised air travel. The results obtained from the questionnaire served as a basis for the last chapter which describes potential customers and traffic flows.
