The Scientific journal AEROjournal is published by The Air Transport Department at the University of Zilina. It offers aviation professionals and academics an opportunity for publication of their research outcomes covering wide range of current issues in air transportation. The Air Transport Department at the University of Zilina (ATD) is a centre for education, research, and training in civil aviation. ATD provides accredited study programmes in a three - tier course structure of university education - bachelor, Ing (equivalent to MSc.) and PhD degrees. We also provide complex aircraft pilot training up to the CPL/IR/MEP (A) level (Commercial Pilot with twin-engine aeroplane qualification and qualification for flying in accordance with Instrument Flight Rules) and a theory up to the frozen ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot) level including Multi Crew Cooperation course. ATD is also the base of the National Civil Aviation Security Training Centre of the Slovak Republic. The Centre runs basic aviation security courses in line with the EU regulations for all categories of personnel in aviation. The papers in this journal cover all the aspects of aviation (including airlines, airports, air traffic management, aerospace and maintenance).

Návrh zdokonalenia ovládacích prvkov simulátora Zlín
(University of Zilina, 2022) Janovec, Michal; Materna, Matúš; Pecho, Pavol
This article deals with possible improvements and improvements of the flight simulator Zlín, which is located at the Air Transport Department of the University of Žilina. The construction of the simulator and the basic control and display units of the simulator ere made in the previous period. For the most realistic feeling of flight, it is necessary to constantly innovate and improve the simulator. The created technical improvements of the simulator control panel, the control mechanism of the lateral and ongitudinal tilt, the balance control and the flaps control to this improvement of the simulator. In the article, these performed improvements of the simulator are described in detail. According to these procedures, the proposed improvements were subsequently practically performed on a simulator.

Customer requirements for airport mobile applications
(University of Zilina, 2021) Kováčiková, Kristína; Materna, Matúš; Baláž, Martin
Digital technologies are increasingly entering into the day-to-day life of everyone. It is possible to observe it in every area, and air transport is no exception. In the context of the digital transformation of air transport, the potential is tremendous, and enterprises in air transport are being forced to constantly introduce new digital technologies to keep up with the competition. The significant trend now is to carry all the information in the pocket - in the smartphone. Many airports around the world are introducing digital technologies into all processes in the airport environment, including the implementation of a mobile application. Competent representatives of many airports have understood that the introduction of modern services can motivate passengers to make more use of the airport and help increase attractiveness and improve the perception of the airport. The aim of this scientific article is to identify requirements of passengers and their expectations from the airport mobile application.

Prototyp simulátora letového environmentálneho laboratória Evirolab
(University of Žilina, 2021) Janovec, Michal; Materna, Matúš; Pecho, Pavol; Kandera, Branislav; Radosa, Filip
The aim of this paper is to create a solid structural platform for the placement of computer equipment and other computer accessories to create a flight simulator from scratch. The simulator will be designed to help pilots in training get accustomed to basic flight procedures and the behavior of aircraft control surfaces during flight. Practical part deals with the design of a simulator inspired by the airplane Zlín Z 242 L, the selection of suitable material and technology to produce this simulator and the measurement of most important dimensions required for the making process. Obtained dimensions will be used to model the structure in a three-dimensional plane with the help of computer aided software, in order to create blueprints of our simulator structure. Said blueprints will be later used to cut building materials to required length and to assemble the construction frame. Last pages are dedicated to seating all required computer software directly on the frame in the correct manner.
