Mass and performance estimation of hydrogen and battery powered transport aircraft concepts
(University of Zilina, 2021) Babčan, Viktor; Janovec, Michal
This article introduces the scope and activities linked to an end of studies project. This project is a collaboration between UNIZA and ENAC and includes work of Pascal Roches and Thierry Druot on top of the student and his UNIZA tutor mentioned above. This article describes the environment of ENAC and the particular department CADO in which the project is being accomplished. It also sets the definition of the project, its main goals and deliverables. Finally, it shows methods of the work that has been done so far, that is the completion of the database of 324 commercial aircraft, which took the largest amount of time so far. It also introduces the software, which will be used to define different models required to calculate initial dimensions and performance parameters of battery or fuel cell concept aircraft.

Electronization of a modern flight school
(University of Zilina, 2021) Dvorščák, Dávid; Novák, Andrej
This paper deals with the selection of a specific solution for the electronic management system of the Aviation Training and Educational Center of the University of Žilina in Žilina. The selection is based on an analysis of system properties and research using a pair of questionnaires in which we found out the preferences of instructors and students in flight training. We identified the basic functions and components of the systems and compared them with the research findings. We fulfilled the basic goal of this paper by selecting three systems, that meet the requirements of students, instructors and flight school. The introduction of one of these systems would simplify flight training for students in the future and increase the overall efficiency of the flight school.

Inspecting activities with unmanned aerial vehicles in the energy industry
(University of Zilina, 2021) Beszédes, Vladim; Kandera, Branislav
The paper acquaints the reader with the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the energy industry. The first chapter is devoted to the distribution of unmanned aerial vehicles and the distribution of energy as a sector where, according to individual categories, the activities of UAVs in a specific category are described. The second chapter discusses in detail the situation in Slovakia, what legislative acts are subject to inspection activities and to what extent the use of UAV is represented in individual categories of energy in Slovakia. In the following pages, we performed an exemplary high-voltage inspection flight and described the necessary steps to perform a safe flight. In the last fourth chapter, the findings and findings related to the paper and the final summary are evaluated.

Design of UAV detection system utilizing communication monitoring
(University of Zilina, 2021) Brodniansky, Martin; Novák, Andrej
Aim of the paper is to design a system capable of detecting unmanned aerial vehicles utilizing radio communication sensing. The need to detect UAVs is caused by combination of their compact size, sensing capabilities, autonomous nature, ways of misusing them or their spread among unprofessional users unaware of their own risky handling of UAV. All these factors can lead to serious security threats and risk to human lives or infrastructure. In this paper, radio communication detection system is proposed as part of a robust system where radio detection is supplemented by other methods, to maximise probability of UAV detection. Significant attention was dedicated to deeper analysis of current progress in the area of radio communication detection systems as well as acoustic, visual and radar detection. Based on this analysis, all systems were compared together based on probability of detection and distances of detection. Comparation together with different properties of detection methods were basic stepping stone for final system proposal. Robust detection system was successfully designed with radio detection as its primary component, radar detection serving primarily as localizer of UAV, acoustic system serving as backup for detection of UAVs without radio communication and visual system for final confirmation of UAV, its model and presence of camera or load

Improving acces to aircraft meteorological data relay AMDAR
(University of Zilina, 2021) Bušovský, Michal; Jarošová, Miriam
Paper deals with the use of aircraft sensors to obtain meteorological parameters required for predictive weather models, using parameters in ATM and meteorological research. It focuses on the current state of the problem of data acquisition, using the AMDAR system. Comparative use of data from other data sources such as Mode S EHS and Mode S MRAR. By building the necessary infrastructure or equipping of commercial aircraft. Within the paper is developed a methodology, which deals with obtaining data from LPS SR š.p., necessary for the comparison of different systems. The impact of the AMDAR system on aircraft instruments and on the safety of air traffic. Based on the analyzed facts, examples of the use of the system are pointed out, but also of the problems associated with this system.

Proposal of MCC course training manual for L410 aircraft
(University of Zilina, 2021) Coufal, Bohumír; Škultéty, Filip
Subject of this paper is to propose a possible and notably practically useful training manual for multicrew cooperation training directly suited for use on L-410 airplane type simulator. This paper could be used as study material at LVVC or any other organisation providing MCC training on L 410 aircraft type simulator. Whole paper is divided into three parts: introduction, core and conclusion. Introduction can be understood as a proposition of a problem and determination of paper goals. In its core part, this paper is going to explain the current state of training, legislative issues, technical solutions, analyse possibilities and practical use of this proposed manual. Lastly, there will be evaluation of thistopic in conclusion.

Possibilities of using unmanned aerial vehicles in forestry and agriculture
(University of Zilina, 2021) Ďatko, Ondrej; Kandera, Branislav
This work analyzes the penetration of the aviation, forestry and agriculture sector and aims to present forestry and agricultural activities where there is the possibility of using unmanned aerial vehicles. In the first chapter, the work deals with the characteristics of unmanned aerial vehicles, remote sensing, forestry and agriculture. The second chapter deals with a particular analyzes of scientific papers, articles and internet research, and on the basis of these analyzes presents examples of activities in which unmanned aerial vehicles can be used. The third chapter provides an overview of technological and software equipment needed to perform such activities or aerial work. In the fourth chapter, through the practical part, work focuses on examining the use of the mid-class unmanned aerial vehicle model for the plant health analysis, while providing justifications and findings from the results. As part of the practical part, it also provides practical information for the individual steps during the planning and operation of flight. In the fifth chapter, the work briefly summarizes the information and results collected, from which it suggests some possibilities for the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, such as their use in the vaccination of foxes, and the recommended procedures for operating flights or aerial work.

System for early identification of local atmospheric changes in flight
(University of Zilina, 2021) Dvorský, Richard; Pecho, Pavol
Paper “System for early identification of local atmospheric changes in flight” is aimed at creating a model of a new variant of instrumentation of non-powered aircraft by monitoring air parameters such as air temperature, static pressure and air humidity. We will use modern technologies to create this theis. This created device will work in the search for thermal currents. After next research as a tool in powered aircraft where it will function as a system for identifying local atmospheric changes that are dangerous for flight itself. Another possible use will be in transport aircraft to predict turbulence

State aid to airports as a problem of competition in the EU
(University of Zilina, 2021) Furčáková, Stanislava; Tomová, Anna
The paper deals with the issues of state aid to airports in the context of pandemic and competition in the European Union. Covering the current pandemic, the paper brings findings on the number of state aid cases, forms of state aids, chronology of state aids, and the time duration between the notification and the decision of European Commission. In the conclusions, old member states of the European Union are compared with newer member states in this regard. As it shows that European Commission understands current aviation situation and approves measures notified by the Member states of Union.
